| Owen Pallett – Peach Plum Pear (Joanna Newsom cover) Lyrics

While I do agree that Joanna's voice takes some getting used to... it is beautiful nonetheless.
This cover is wonderful just the same. When I first heard it, I was like, shit, two worlds just collided and it sounds amazing!!! |

I can't think of a song with truly better lyrics. If I had to choose a song with The Best Lyrics of all time, this would honestly be it. |

Once again, I know its country, but this is such a great song!!!
It reminds me of my mom and how she used to sing along to the cassette to me in my grandmom's back yard when I was really little. |

I was raised on country and classic rock, and country is still one of my guilty pleasures to this day.
That said... this song trumps pretty much all other country songs. |

The Hotel California = THC
But it is about Hollywood/The Music industry cause the band says so... there are just a lot of drug references. Certainly not a bad thing, right? |

Really good song... too bad its only gotten 1 comment per year, haha.
I totally feel the whole depressing feeling of winter. Its my favorite season, but it makes me sad at the same time. |

| Lostprophets – Can't Stop, Gotta Date With Hate Lyrics
| 18 years ago

These lyrics are an abomination...
It is not: "End it you're gone and..."
Its: "ANDY, YOU GOONIE!"
As in the same exact thing that Troy yells when Andy sends up her jacket instead of herself from the wishing well in the "The Goonies."
In fact, the whole song could be a narration from Troy's perspective. She chooses Brand and his little brother's gang over him, hence why he would call her a goonie. It would be sad if Troy wasn't a dick, but whatever.
I'm just mad whoever put up these lyrics got them so incredibly wrong, and r2kdimwit was the only one to see that! |

| Train – Meet Virginia Lyrics

She's not a drag queen, but there may be some kind of suicidal tendencies.
The line ..I don't really wanna live this life.. sounds very close to the famous words "And I don't want to live this life" that Sid Vicious wrote in his suicide note.
It puts a kind of sad twist on the end, at least for me, but it's pretty open ended and beautiful nonetheless. |

| The Killers – Andy, You're a Star Lyrics

I think I heard somewhere that he wrote it about a guy in high school who used to make fun of him and call him gay. Th guy was a jerk and was so full of himself, he thought a lot of people, even boys (including Flowers) liked him. Not a lot of people really did though, so Flowers wrote this song in a sarcastic sort of way, saying oh yes, leave you're number on the locker and I'll give it a call... but really he was a star in no one elses eyes... |

Became one of my favorite songs the first time I heard it. Does the very first chord progression at the beginning remind anyone else of John Lennon's Imagine? Love it though. Beautiful. |

| Houston Calls – Elephant & Castle Lyrics

It's definitely about a girl moving on in life... to the city I suppose. Elephant and Castle refers to a busy and somewhat dangerous part of London, I think. I've never been there, but I've seen the stop on the underground. |
