I also believe this song is about a girl who goes out clubbing to escape her daily life and finds a guy she's sexually attracted too and wants to know if the guy she wants would think less of her if she said she wanted a one-night-stand up-front. Uncertainty concerning past morals vs. modern trends. |

IMHO, the lyrics as stated above are wrong. The lyric isn't "My love is like first steps in this snow, baby", they are "My love is like footsteps in the snow, baby". In every mix and remix I've heard, my interpretation is correct. The rest of the lyrics above seem to be correct. |

Since this site asks "What does this song mean to you?", then I would answer honestly. I recently found myself in a dark place, a horrible state of mind. This was a place where insanity ruled, and the truly sane hid behind the cloak of insanity to escape legal charges. This song ( and a few others) united the folks on my ward. This song led to acceptance, participation, and camaraderie for all that participated in our music nights regardless of musical talent. We were doing it for fun and fellowship. This song was a part of my healing. |

The Latin at the beginning of the song come from Luke Chapter 2, verse 14, and means "Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men", said by the Angel announcing the birth of Jesus. The Song is also filled with Christian symbols described very well here by others. |

I ran across this on YTMND tonite. Readin the comments. alot of them say they heard this at 6th or 8th grade graduation. This is about high school, senior year, wondering what's coming next. Will we change? Who's gettin rich? Will we change that much? I am a very different person than I was in high school. I've been married and divorced, most of my fellow graduates fell into drug use, and the few that didn't bailed out of our hometown very quickly. But I made frinds in high school that I will keep the rest of my life. I will always remember the times we had, the fun we had, and the time we rumbled wit the football team. This Song is about nature represented as the male son/husband of the Goddess. He is born in spring, pushing up through the ground and feeding the trees and grass with his energy.
