| Uncle Tupelo – Black Eye Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
once when i was 18 i got piss drunk and went to a club where i was stumbling into ppl and finally someone got mad enough to knock me a nice black eye. this feeds into mkilby's adolescent machoism theory, we call it beer muscle round here. perhaps there is an implied theme of alcoholism here? seems like uncle tupelo's shoe. it wud explain the speaker, like his father not being able to recall events and thusly being at a loss for words. im only 22 but im starting to see my face change, i think its from drinking and smoking.. in a few decades ill proly wana take down my mirrors too. |

| MGMT – The Youth Lyrics | 17 years ago |

obama should be using this song for his campaign. xD i think the way they change keys or pitch or something in the chorus makes this song. it so eerie and tasty |

| Feist – The Park Lyrics | 18 years ago |

as others have witnessed, this song's power is in delivery. contentwise, its not too tricky. the theme is a pretty beaten path and all. can i get a witness-ah! |

| Stars – The Beginning After the End Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i hear in this song, strong glory. not triumph really, but something like marching to battle, with dignity and resolve. the title sounds like a part of a cycle. the mark of nature. or mebe its describing love episodic. very nice opener. set nice ambience. knew i'd like this band a minute into the album. |

| Seabear – Hands Remember Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i swear, i was going to write this song. a congruous one anyway. well i guess i shouldnt let that stop me. to me, this song is about the majesty and magic of innocence, ie youth. or perhaps "the past" in general? today's pile of shit is tomorrow's fonder memories. then someone of shared experience comes into the pic. im thinkin opp sex friend. and apparently theyve fallen out of favor or contact w/ e/ other. there are some strong vibes of reincarnation. like wanting to be made new, meeting in the next life. knowledge of past lives. tooootally feelin that. and btw what is it with this guy and owls. lolol. owls can go to hell. im an owl. this song gives good head. or something equivalent. |

| Graham Nash – Simple Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i dont think there is too much connotation to mull over here.. i just saw reign over me.. its such a nice beginning. as soon as the song was over, i started the movie over again. and i did that, no shit, 20 times before watching the movie.. lolol. |

| The Tough Alliance – First Class Riot Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
to me, anyway, the song is about the reason to struggle through the inanity or bleakness or something of living. im not too sure what first class riot means. mebe living in extreme? the sound effects in this song are addicting. |

| Maxïmo Park – Books from Boxes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
everyones got the right idea, its about a severed relationship. but in my head, i see a couple being separated as a consequence of their individual lives, i.e. school, work. and as time wears on, the sterility of stability bleaks against the past's emotions. and as a conclusion, they start writing to each other again, having been unable to drown the memories. but im never right about these things. |
|
| Bird York – Have No Fear Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i feel like im floating when i listen to this. i put it on sometimes to put me to sleep. which is well, but nothing compared to waking up to it. lets see wat the electric bill is going to be this month. | |
| Regina Spektor – Prisoners Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| if i wrote this song it wouldve been about depression. self imposed box. | |
