I agree with Dorkenfarber. I would like to add that 'the dream he keeps having' is probably of a way to kill himself. I also think when he says 'He feels lucky to have you here In his kitchen, in your chair,' he's being sarcastic and really means that the person in his life does not relieve him from his loneliness because the in the next line he says 'Sometimes he forgets that you're even there.'
One last thing: It's really cool how the chirpy music covers up the dark lyrics. |

So far everyone has been wrong and identifying with the girl..... Read the last couple of lines. This song is about the girl being too immature to realize that the only thing they need to have for an awesome relationship to exist is love. She's telling him to do all these things that have nothing to do with love and and the end he wins the argument by saying 'I told you that I loved you and there ain't no more to say.' |

if what agouli says is true about the dark one being taken away from the white one, this could represent the band mates (Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge) they went to grade school together and were separated only to reunite in a different city. |

i think everyone that has given their opinion is wrong about what this song means
"i took the 405 and DROVE (it says 'drilled' above) a stake down into your center" - to me that means they are having sex
"i hung my favorite shirt on the floorboard wrinkled up" he threw his shirt on the ground when they were undressing to get it on
"pulling, pushing, and tasting" - thats obviously getting it on
the girl thats twisting the truth in this song is her telling him that they will be fine as a long distance relationship, which probably won't work
alcoholoc summer means that he's addicted to her
he passed her parents house hours ago because she used to live by him
she is basically a bad habit in this song |
