I think it's about having a darker perspective of life. Sometimes a person might ask "Is it cold in here, or is it just me?" That's a stupid example, but I think that's the kind of context the words are meant to be read. Davis says "You see beauty, I see pain. You see sky and I see acid rain. It's me again." I think what he means is that while something may seem bad, it's only the way he percieves it. It's suprising that he realizes that. He seems so angry, maybe even spiteful, to those who view things differently because this is always happening to him. He's sick of negative perception poisoning his experiences. |

Why is it that so many people disliked this album the first time they heard it? The meaning I like to get out of this song is: All of the people who freak out over media violence need to realize that it is the best way to be exposed to violence. But of course, I probably focus on that because it's an issue that I think about alot. "Vicariously, I live while the whole world dies. Much better you than I." |
