| Sleigh Bells – Rill Rill Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This is definitely my favorite song on the album. I'm not sure what it means but many people have been saying it's about teenage troubles in high school, since Alex used to be a school teacher. I also think she's saying "So this is it then? You're here WITH a friend." Meaning something more like, she wasn't ready to see her ex be with someone else. But in terms of the school teacher explanation, "you're here to win a friend" makes a lot more sense. |

| who's MacBride? and what does she mean why did you sit here in a grave? | |
| Cocteau Twins – Fotzepolitic Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| the most amazing Twins song. i listen to this song on repeat and never get tired of it. "See and saw bounce me back to you" is the best line. | |
| Cocteau Twins – Heaven or Las Vegas Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| ummm, actually weslobombs you're WRONG. she often mispronounces words, again, another reason to play around with words and make them real with a song. her accent might play a part but a lot of times she does it purposefully. | |
| Cocteau Twins – Cherry-Coloured Funk Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Yeh Liz probably wasn't on drugs. I hate that drugs and creative words have to be on a parallel. I understand what Weslobombs is trying to say but that's seriously not the point that Liz is trying to make with her lyrics. She puts words to music and still creates an amazing song, even if the lyrics don't mean anything. She uses words as a FACT, that they exist, and you don't necessarily need to make sense of them in order to use them with music. and yeh, this is....NOT Enya. thanks. |

| Cocteau Twins – Persephone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| yes, the whole point the Cocteau Twins make with their lyrics is that they use words just as fillers...the lyrics don't really mean much, but that's the beauty of it, you can still have an amazing powerful song and it can be simple...they use words because words are beautiful, it's just the idea that words can be sung along with a melody and work out. | |
| Yelle – Ce Jeu Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i am so glad i discovered this song and Yelle. absolutely amazing. | |
| Enter Shikari – Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour... Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| anyone know what he says in that amazing ending part when it's all muffled? | |
| The Smashing Pumpkins – Quiet Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| someone mentioned Hummer, Mayonaise, and Luna as the holy trinity to Siamese Dream. I think it's Hummer, Mayonaise, and Quiet. :) | |
| The Smashing Pumpkins – Hummer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Definitely in the top ten best Pumpkin's songs of all time. I totally know what Billy means when he describes a "Hummer." It's terrible when people pretend they're happy. Then everyone always thinks they're happy and they can NEVER feel upset or have anxieties because it's not expected of them. Not so sure about the homosexual comments. Could be though. I don't really see it as that. I work at an animal shelter and I sing this song sometimes to the dogs in the kennel. The words fit so perfectly for them. |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – Silverfuck Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
pumkinhead that was the dumbest thing i've ever read in my entire life. anyway-- I think "I hear what you want, and I feel that way" is the girl only wanting him for a sex toy and he feels the same way...at first I feel like they loved each other but now she's fallen out of it and he has too ("and I feel no pain"). And the "bang bang your dead part" is kind of like, a one last push, like she's dead to him. and um YES, jimmy chamberlin's talent in this song is out of this world.... |
|
| Cocteau Twins – Pandora (for Cindy) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| Fall Out Boy – Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
karlie -- it's waking up with pants on. also--it's not get off my ass and call you, it's get off my HANDS and call you, which makes it a totally different meaning, like he's in a begging position already. i wish someone would sing this song to me. :( patrick needs to marry me, right now. he makes me swoon. |
|
| Fall Out Boy – Chicago Is So Two Years Ago Lyrics | 18 years ago |

|
| Fall Out Boy – I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me and You) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
*with eyes the size of baby worlds* i want to have sex with patrick. i don't care if it's about pete's relationships, he's an idiot who fucks ashlee simpson. patrick makes my heart melt. everything he says and does and the way he sings makes me drop everything, just to hear him. if i could meet him once i'd be able to die. |

| Black Star – RE: DEFinition Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Don't be mad at me, I had to be the one to break it to you You get kicked into obscurity like judo, no Menudo cause you pseudo, tryin to compete with reality like Xerox Towards destruction you spiraling like hairlocks, wipe them teardrops fucking genius. i love you, talib. |
|
| Portishead – Cowboys Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
well it can't be about 9/11 because this album came out in 1997. But it's definitely about politics. "Did you feed us tales of deceit?" "Conceal the tounges who need to speak." "Your swollen pride assumes respect." Sounds like a politician to me. |
|
| Hole – Violet Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i think it's about billy corgan, but i also am really interested in the idea of it being about men just wanting sex. I think it's about billy really only wanting her for sex and not for anything further or more meaningful. unfortunately, it seems like she doesn't fight it, she just gives herself away. "go on, take everything, i want you to." she's saying she doesn't mind him just sleeping with him. "when i get what i want, then i never want it again." she's saying she might act the same? i think she shows her frustration though, when she says "THEY get what they want, and they never want it again." any thoughts? |

| Madvillain – Rhinestone Cowboy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Overthrow like throwing rover a biscuit A lot of bitches think he's overly chauvanistic Let go his dick if that's the case Rats, what a waste More cats to chase Doom's a genius. |
|
| Madvillain – All Caps Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"whip up a slice of nice verse pie, hit it on the first try, villain-the worst guy." doom's rhymes are the illest. |
|
| Nonpoint – Orgullo Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| what does voy a morir mean? | |
| Tool – Die Eier Von Satan Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
the best comment i've read on here so far was one that said that this was supposed to make german sound scary when it's really just a recipe being said, while a message to harry manback makes cursing and rudeness quite romantic. i speak fluent german, and when i first heard this song i was really excited that an amazing band such as tool would use the language to express their feelings through their album. i think it's great, and it has nothing to do with satanism or nazism. and seriously guys, you NEED to let this german = nazi thing go. like, seriously. it's really dumb and it's just not worth your time and energy. |
|
| Jane's Addiction – Been Caught Stealing Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| king of shit, the dog part is what makes this song so great and intelligent. the dogs represent perry getting caught for stealing, their barking is ratting him out. and the way that the bark fits into the playing is amazing. the song is great and original, and only a band like jane's addiction can pull it off. | |
| Jay-Z – Lucifer Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i think Bob is HOVA's father. but i'm not totally sure on that one. | |
| Pearl Jam – Whipping Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i see the sexual innuendos in the first verse as this tough guy who's proud of himself but gets the girl pregnant and then the "whipping" part is him not wanting to take responsibility and now she needs to decide whether she wants an abortion. as she's thinking, it's like, why should i trust these "rusted rails" a bunch of old men pro-lifers making decisions for my body. but still, the whipping, it still hurts her. i think it's a song about pro-CHOICE, and that eddie is trying to tell us that just because you're pro-choice doesn't mean you like to have abortions. |
|
| Pearl Jam – Go Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| omg, it IS about his truck. | |
| Pearl Jam – Daughter Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| it's "she holds the hand that holds her down, she will, rise AGAIN." not above. totally different meaning too. | |
| The Cranberries – Disappointment Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| yeah, i agree with you, i wonder where "there" is... | |
| The Cranberries – The Icicle Melts Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| yeah, i think it's about abortion, but i think she's against it, sixedheart is right on about the judgement thing. i think it's like, a combination though, of abortion and war and death and stuff, because a lot of their songs are about how innocent children die from war (Bosnia on To the Faithful Departed soundtrack). | |
