Neon Neon – I Told Her on Alderaan Lyrics 14 years ago
No, it doesn't say that. It just all the 's' sounds in the "silver pylons in the sun" line overlapping the original lyrics "I told her on Alderaan / that nothing else was going on".

Silverchair – Those Thieving Birds/Strange Behaviour Lyrics 15 years ago
I heard Hounds of Love by Kate Bush on the radio this morning and it struck me how similar parts of the lyrics and melody are between this and Strange Behaviour. Particularly "I'll take my clothes" and the Kate Bush line, "I'll take my shoes off", they share a very close melody. A wink from Daniel maybe?

The Sleepy Jackson – Rain Falls For Wind Lyrics 17 years ago
I don't think this song is about anything particularly deep, just about desire for someone. "Rain falls for wind" could be interpreted as a way of saying "I would do whatever you want me to", replacing the protagonist and the object of his desire with "rain" and "wind" just because it's pretty imagery (I am the rain and you are the wind beneath me, or some such).

It's by far the most beautiful song the band have done, anyway.

The Shins – Phantom Limb Lyrics 17 years ago
Wow, the lyrics are nothing at all what I figured them out to be! Nice to have them now. I was so sure the first line was "frozen intercourse".

Queen – Dear Friends Lyrics 17 years ago
This song feels almost like a lullaby or nursery rhyme.

Pearl Jam – Lukin Lyrics 18 years ago
I thought that the "purchasing a gun" lyric implied that the crazy fan was going to come after Eddie again.

Anyway, basically this song is about a day in the life of Eddie Vedder, and his refuge at his friend Matt Lukin's house, who has the best stocked fridge in the world!

"The arches" refers to MacDonalds.

Queen – Keep Yourself Alive Lyrics 18 years ago
Actually, I believe it's, "Take it away!". Just Freddie scatting.

Pearl Jam – Smile Lyrics 18 years ago
I remember I once heard that the lyrics are what a fan had written on a postcard to the band, and scribbled on the card were three crooked hearts, with swirls all around.

Pearl Jam – In My Tree Lyrics 18 years ago
I always took the meaning of song to be that Eddie, becoming so sick of the media and people's expectations of him, retreats to a place (in his mind, or otherwise) where he can feel completely isolated, safe and above all happy. It's, metaphorically, his tree where he can look about and see everything from up high, and it's all so much simpler. His friends all keep there heads down and are stuck in the real world, so he can't be with them for those few moments where he retreats and feels "innocent" all over again.

It's just basically about escapism and the precious moments we can have to ourselves.
