Marilyn Manson – Antichrist Superstar Lyrics 12 years ago
I love the beginning of the chorus. I have listened to Manson since '97, but just the other day I actually listened to this lyrically.

"Repent - that's what I'm talking about
I shed the skin to feed the fake."

It makes me think of Catholics who "take the body of Christ" during communion and are repented of their sins, only to return to sin once they step outside of the church and allow the cycle to continue.

Foo Fighters – Learn to Fly Lyrics 13 years ago
I hadn't heard this song since around 2001. My grandfather was in the hospital in December, and the morning before he passed away as I was driving to the hospital, I heard this on the radio. The two days following, I heard the song two more times. I can't describe the measure of meaning it gave to me to hear it and the ways in which I applied it to him and our lives. This song helped to heal me through that time - when I hear it now, I see it as a sign from my grandpa. I have always liked this song, but it has so much more meaning now.

Foo Fighters – Learn to Fly Lyrics 13 years ago
I hadn't heard this song since I was a freshman in high school - 2000/2001-ish. On January 1st, my grandpa passed away and I have heard this song on the radio, at random times, every day since. From not hearing it for almost a decade to hearing it several days in a row has given me hope. I keep asking for my grandfather to show me a sign that there is more to life, that he is okay and knows we all care for him. This song has been the answer, to me.

Bob Dylan – If You Gotta Go, Go Now Lyrics 18 years ago
This song makes me so happy! I love Dylan, would love to know what stemmed this. The live version is hilarious... especially the commentary at the end between him and fans.

System of a Down – Boom! Lyrics 18 years ago
I am against war... uh, also against System of a Down? ha.

I don't really like much after the self-titled album, aside Deer Dance. Regardless, the video for this was good. SOAD are all very involved with this, and it's encouraging to see - I just don't care for the music too much.

Any human that promotes peace, to me, deserves recognition. The video was very interesting - thought some of the claims were stretched ("I don't see how dropping bombs on innocent children is creating peace."[to that effect.]) Throw in the innocent children factor, you know, because human lives in general are not sad when lost. Right. Regardless, I don't see how it creates peace either.

George Harrison – Apple Scruffs Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't find this song annoying in excess at all. It's so light and uplifting, and beautiful. It can get me into a good mood any time. George is my favorite Beatle... the man had such a genuine, beautiful soul. I hope that wherever he is, he is at peace... but wasn't he already at peace on Earth? Love that man.

George Harrison – A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics 18 years ago
Beautiful song... makes me cry hearing it sometimes. The live version of this on Concert for Bangladesh is somethin', however I prefer Dylan's album version.

Aside Concert for George, Concert for Bangladesh seemed to have so many wonderfully talented musicians sharing the same stage. I really admired that, and think 'if only Bob Dylan were at the Concert for George.'

Bob Dylan – Desolation Row Lyrics 18 years ago
I love the way Dylan words things, so much. The vocabulary and word placements, which all probably just stumble from his tongue, are wonderful. The little riffs in between chords in this song are what get to me, coupled with his singing. My favorite riff of the song would be the one following "takes one to know one, she smiles."

Also really enjoyed the line 'everybody's shouting - which side are you on?' seems to hold a candle to today's America.

Pink Floyd – The Final Cut Lyrics 18 years ago
Possibly my favorite Pink Floyd song. It held a lot of truth to me when I was 17 (what's with this teenage identification crisis?) Extremely near bottom, 'The Final Cut' and 'Abbey Road,' hand in hand, none more than the other, both shoved lots of perspective onto my life. It was much needed resolution for me. Sure, I could've gotten over it without the albums, but it may not have been as intimate or special. Great musicians...

Tool – The Grudge Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is very purifying. This, along with every song on Lateralus (aside Ticks and Leeches) has held this enormous movement towards 'crucifying my own ego.' Very theraputic tool for me, along with a wonderfully built album.

George Harrison – Blow Away Lyrics 18 years ago
I love the chorus. It's nice and uplifting for me when I am in a relationship issue... the issues are all petty and it's only a matter of time before love conquers all and the rest of it "blows away."
