I don't know... this song just reminds me of how you feel after you get dumped after you did something unexpected to someone.
I think this song paints a good picture... you can see him reminiscing about the times they had together. He uses vague language but I always have so many clear visuals in my head when I hear this song. I just imagine the couple making love in a not-so-private place and just a sort of montage of memories between him and the one he let down. I love NMH's ability to paint pictures not only with their random and sometimes erratic lyrics but with their music as well.
I don't really find this song "stalkery" at all. I just think he really loved the girl who he let down. |

I just think this song is about questioning your choices and how things are working out for you, as opposed to how they're working out for other people. I think this song is about doing anything to please other people and always putting yourself last. |
