Great song from a great album. Lyrics are raw and have balance between expression and words chosen specifically for their sound. I've heard they are awesome live. |

I definitly agree that he's being supportive of whomever he's singing this song to. I do believe that is who this song is directed to and not the end of a relationship. One thing that threw me off was how angry and frustrated his voice during the "not enough" part. I think that's actually frustration with himself as he's doing everything he can to be supportive and help and yet its just not enough. I also think he realizes there's a limit to how much he can help and most of this is up to her to work through which leads to more frustration. |

My favorite song on this album which is a great record by the way. The song has a dream-like quality which makes me believe that this song is about the fantasy we've all had where we want to run away with the one we love, or fly away in this case. The persuasive nature of the song also adds to its fantasy quality in that the singer beginss by asking and then romantically describes their night amongst the passing stars and yet this entire proposal takes place in his head and not really with the girl he loves. Just a thought :) but I do love this song! |
