Yes, TCC, isn't deemed a "christian band" , but only because they feel that by doing that, they would limit the accessibility of their music. Its really too bad that our society is like that... So even though, they aren't a "christian band", they're songs can be about god, as we can definitely see throughout the whole silver cord, with this song, God and Drugs and many others. So personally i think that this song is about God. |

such an amazing song, love the line "And we will walk through the valley of the shadow of the boring" And just the vocals on the chorus, i just love this song As for an interpretation... I really think this song is... I'm not really sure what all the verses are about, but as for the chorus, its about something that he thinks was going to go wrong and he was right and now he "can't hold back his reaction" |

| i think this song is about how breaking up with his girlfriend is like driving him to drink, "you're the drink in my hand" because she he left he can't get her out of his head. And i don't think that he broke up with her, it seems like it was some kind of almost mutual agreement, but still not sure if they're doing the right thing kind of deal. As we can see he's regreting leaving and "can't wait to get back home" I think he's confused on whether he should follow his heart or his career, as his only dream is to be with her, but his job is calling him to be away from her, and that kind of stress can definitely lead to drinking | |

little too hardcore for me, but i think the meaning has something to do with how society is "digging [their] own graves" just like with abracadavers and how everyone is putting all this crap in their bodies to look good, but its really disgusting in the end, and i think that this song is almost an extension of that, however i'm not sure what we're killing ourselves with. I think maybe he's committing suicide to look deeper into what his life is, "looking for signs in the headlights", but just can't find it. Since everyone else is digging their own graves, he's trying to find something else? I don't know, i'm not exactly sure, if anyone else has any insight that would be fantastic |

oh thanks for the site topherc3103, when i first listened i thought it said fearfully but i saw anotehr site with beautifully, thanks for clearing that up And i think that this song is exactly what everyone else has been saying... that we need to look deeper than the skin and look at what we're putting on our bodies just to look good and attract attention However, i want to know what the following lines mean, if anyone could be so inclined =D... " I have been blessed and now I'm blind. A veil's been pulled over my eyes. Now every bad season that kept me believing seems so contrived. There's more glory to be seen and savored through suffering than ever was through self-serving escape" These seem to have religious undertones to me, but i can't figure it out, thanks for the responses |

| i'm pretty sure that Bear wrote this about his wife, if i remember correctly. This is just such an amazing song and i love the whole thing! I think that the song is talking about how the relationship is rocky now, and it'll get harder, but if we stay together we can make it though together. Just an amazing song from an amazing band | |

@gravity12 This song isn't meaningless, its point is that pop music makes no statements at society and what they have problems with, they are "saying what they didn't mean", they don't even care as long as they hit #1 in the sales charts, what's ironic is that they do make this song catchy, but really waht song isn't catchy and get stuck in your head? Pop is meaningless because it makes no statement towards our society or how our society should be changed, which makes bands liek switchfoot so great, they're music and lyrics may be controversial but that's why they write them, because they are an artist and they're here to help shape and mold society |
