I went thru and listened to all the songs like you said and it seems to me like theres def a connection throughout there at least on some level. It goes through some sort of drug/alcohol abuse in Bangkok and then throught the rest of it hes going thru battles with some sort of addiction while searching for something to help him tie together those loose ends and make some sort of recovery(a girl, family, friends, God). The other thing that points me in that direction is the fact that theres so many coincidental similarities throughout the songs. Theres a lot of phrases/words/themes that dont seem to fit quite right but they are sprinkled throughout the cd like the counting you said for example. There are still a few things im unsure of but i think youre definitely on to something there thanks for pointing that out. |

I think this was intended to be sort of an antithesis to sowing season. For starters sowing season is the first song on the cd while handcuffs is the last one. Much of the cd has to do with the maturation process. In sowing season they are pressing the issue of being a man by overlooking the ways you've been wronged and making the best out of what you've got. In handcuffs i think theyve made an attempt to address the fact that this whole concept is not a realization but a process. When youve been slighted its easier said than done to just forgive and forget and move on with your life. |

fird - it's possible, i never thought of it that way but i initially took it as a secretive meeting with a girl he's having an afair with based on the next line - It's times like these where silence means everything And no one is to know about this take it for what it's worth...i kind of think adam lazarra needs a release but at the same time cant bring himself to reveal too much about his personality, that's why i think this is one of their more vague, indecipherable songs. |

This is about cheating on someone who is completely in love with him but he feels no commitment to her. He knows he needs her, someone to fall back on, but at the same time he can't escape his promiscuous nature (Thinkin' if it's three then I'm as smooth as the skin rolls across the small of your back It's too bad it's not my style If you need me) But most of all I think it's a cry for help. He cannot convince himself to be faithful to this girl but at the same time he desperately needs someone to cling to. The self destruction stems from the guilt of hurting such a loyal person as well as a way to plead for this girls pity so she can continue to carry him through life. He's been trying so hard for so long to change his ways (revisionist history) but he knows its a futile effort (campaign of distraction) He tries to bear this pain on his own but he cant help himself from succombing to drinking as a way out |

| His girlfriends actually from New York i think and i read that this is the first serious, mature relationship he's had so its just a struggle over whether he's able to leave behind the life he's had and commit, but he doesn't really know any other way to live (can't find a way around). Miami is just a metaphor for his sinful life. | |

it sounds to me like he could have found a girl who was with a good friend of his and kind of took her from him. He feels guilty by messing around with a good friend's g/f but the two of them are so infatuated they can't hold themselves back He wants to feel guilty and end it but in being honest with himself he knows he's afraid that this girl will leave him. |

| They've dated before and the girl ditched him for something that was more exciting at the time but then she realized she made a mistake and now she wants him back but it's too late | |

| To me it sounds like this guy's girlfriend is finding out little by little about his sketchy past and he feels the need to come clean but he would rather just start over eventho he's not sure he can handle it. He wants to commit to one girl who has already committed to him but he doesn't know if he can get out of the sinful life he's been so used to | |
