Okay well I'm not a huge clash fan, but I absolutely love The Ramones.. That's sorta irrelavent, anyways I was born in 86, but I'm pretty sure around the 70s, there wasn't really such a thing as "selling out" because most bands formed and did their thing to make money. MTV was a brand new thing, so I'm guessing bands probably "made it big" as opposed to "selling out". I'm pretty sure people didn't see being on the charts and on the radio the way we do today because music has changed so much. Back in the 70s, my dad told me that there was either rock or disco... So I'm guessing the music industry wasn't so much profit oriented, maybe it was about the quality of music and profit came along with that. |

This is of course one of my favorite Rasputina songs but I think I like Dig Ophelia a litttttle more than this song. I'm not really sure what exactly it means but it always makes me feel lonely. |

Haha yeah, jerks you need to read more about lz before you talk about what possibly influenced a song and what didn't. I know Robert Plant was a huge fan of tolkeins work and lord of the rings. Just because you didn't like the movies that recently came out doesn't mean people didn't enjoy the books and other literary works by the same author 30 years ago. |

Okay um, after Robert Plant wrote the lyrics for stairway to heaven with Page, Page had him write all of the lyrics because he loved the song so much.

Oh yeah and I read somewhere that Plant isn't credited for writing the songs because of some contract.. I'm not sure exactly but I'll find where I read that later and post it here because I'm kind of posting this on my sidekick right now, bye. |
