| Talib Kweli – Get By Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think the second verse says; Yo, our activism attacking the system, the blacks and latins in prison Numbers have risen - they victims lacking the vision. Shit and all they got is rapping to listen to. |

| Dispatch – Flying Horses Lyrics | 18 years ago |

The Flying Horses is a carousel in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts on Martha's Vineyard Island. It is the oldest running carousel in America. Sadly, the company that makes the rings went out of business, and they cannot replace the ones that are stolen as souvenirs. With the merry-go-round theme, I see the song as having a cyclical aspect to it. He starts out on his own, finds the beautiful stone, meets the girl, and gets a lock of her hair... but he ends up losing everything. The only difference is he seems wiser from the experience. |

| 311 – Reconsider Everything Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Don't worry so much about what other people are doing. Follow your heart and your instincts because you know what is best for you. | |
| Coheed and Cambria – The Light and the Glass Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I feel like there is a real connection between the lyrics of this song and a book called "The God of Small Things" by Arundhati Roy. | |
| Coheed and Cambria – The Crowing Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I thought it was "A heart stained in hate, a feeling I fear will play circles." Either way this song amazing. |

| Sublime – Badfish Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
When he says "Grab the reef underneath my bed." he lets you know it's about drugs. I agree with nephos, reef is too close to "reefer" to be a coincidence. And he is talking about alcohol when the fish reference comes up, it probably came from the expression, "He drinks like a fish." "Lord knows I'm weak, won't somebody get me off of this reef." If you picture a fish stuck on a reef, you know the fish is in trouble. If you picture a man stuck on a reef, you think isolation, which is something that can lead to addiction, and is also something that addiction causes. He is openly asking for help in this song, and his life goes to show you that you have to help yourself because no one is going to do it for you. |

| Ilayaraaja, I got another quote I'm sure you're familiar with; it goes, "Fuck the nay-sayers 'cause they don't mean a thing, 'cause this is what style we bring." | |
| 311 – Champagne Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I don't think that he is in love with her, she is an incredibly beautiful girl who is confusing the hell out of him, starting fights and shit. | |
| Matisyahu – Warrior Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
When he says "Your the son of his majesty," I think he's basically saying that we are all God's children. I'm almost wondering if Valentinegirl was joking about the Jesus interpretation. As jt103 said, Matisyahu is Jewish. Knowing that, her interpretation becomes kind of ironic. I think he's talking to directly to the listener, about our relationship with God. In this world of negativity, having faith becomes a struggle. He's singing to people who've almost lost their faith, he's telling them to stay strong. We are the warriors, fighting for our souls. |
