This was originally called Down the Circus but then they added to it. I think its about prostitutes on the streets and how there is one girl that didnt belong but she didnt have anywhere else to turn, so she began living on the streets (and...in her car) and selling her body. Im not sure how they're going to "make it right" though... sounds like a pretty depressing situation. Anyone see it any other way? Amazing band though, too bad they're not together anymore :( |

To me I think it sounds like "she waits, thinkin' that it's sexy." For all I know it could be in and out of texas...but I dont feel like that fits. feel me loud, where did you read that? online or in a magazine? I just want to know, Im not questioning your source or anything like that. |

| but what is the "permanent state??" Although Im not religious, I think those of you who believe the 'permanent state' is like a heaven are close. Im not quite sure what he's referring to about things being in a permanent state considering a lot of things are not permanent. And Im not a big fan of Metallica, but I am of KOL and as I was reading those lyrics I thought "hey what if Molly's Chambers was based of this song???" ... turns out Im not the only who is thinking that! | |

DCFC's album is amazing. Their vivid songs always seem to perfectly capture the moments from death (what sarah said), to growing up (brothers on a hotel bed), to this song. On the surface, this song is about summer love. I think its about a guy who met a girl and they had a fling over the summer. I imagine a girl coming to stay with her grandparents somewhere on the east coast and they meet and fall in love. However, as labor day rolls around their fling must come to an end. Just as their summer tans fade, their love fades too... But if you read more into it, I think its more about facing changes and how sometimes you have to leave good things behind and move on to a new chapter in life. |

I wasnt trying to sound defensive, I was just wondering why you were asking :) but I know now cause my name haha. The funny thing is, I only just found out about the libs last summer (cause they never really got big here in the USA) and I didnt even know about NME until january of this year. but anyway... To add to what I said before about the song: my favorite verse is the "just cause were having a say-so.." because its saying they arent gonna let people mold them into something theyre not. But because they are "not lining up to be play dough," 5 years from now, will everyone remember who they are? I do agree with fish with fingers about them complaining (just get over it!!), but at the same time he writes his own music and this is something he's obviously having a lot of feelings about. But I still like the song :) |

It always seems like people are after things they cant have, they like the challenge. its like when youre dating some one, and more people are after you. Then you break up with the person and when you actually want some one again, no one comes... silly boys... I mean 'buses' :) |

I dont think theyre only in for money. Maybe thats a much bigger part of it now but they still play music because they like it. Alex is always saying he didnt want this much fame, but then again a lot of artists try to claim that to make themselves sound better (I think hes being honest tho). He's using this song to get all of his feelings out about what has happened to the band. Hes saying theyre just going to keep playing and bringing out songs and he doesnt care if thats marketing suicide. He says hes not mad about the fame, hes "just disappointed" that it turned out to be this way. He knows that bands that get really hyped up die out faster because they just get replaced with a new hyped up band. I agree with LittleFloo and Super Nova about discovering them, the wave is gonna start to hit america now. A lot of american kids think theyre really on top of things... It really has become the new cool thing to be into "indie" music... Even though I dont consider AM to be indie at all b/c of their popularity in the UK. |
