okay, so i read cesar's interpretation, and it makes more sense than most of the poeple have about this song...in fact, i think he is pretty much right on...so scrathc what i said...it was a pretty good idea though... one of the reasons i didnt believe it was about cocaine is because of the way the rest of ben's lyrics are...even in DCFC they dont reflect on substances rather than drinking...and from all ive heard, ben doesnt seem to be much into the whole drug scene...this is just what ive gatehred however...I think that cesar is at least the clsoest out of all of us... |

"inhaling" does not necessarily mean cocaine...have any of u ever heard the term used figuratively?like "he 'inhaled' his food"? or in this case, his drinks... he is obvisously at a bar...a tumbler is a glass specifically for drinking...it sounds like he's ordering drink after drink, hence the twenty dollar bills line...then again, if someone is going to snort something, its usually through a 20... this is just my opinion though... |

my idea is that the song is almost out of order, if u will... at the begining it almost as if he is telling us in conversation that the glove compartment's name should be changed...then, he tells the story of how one night he was pulled over...he was "searching for some legal document" (his title and registration, cops ask for these when pulling someone over!no way!) and he stumbled upon......u get the point...and thats what gave him the idea that we should change the name of the glove compartment should be changed...hm, he must have been a little upset when he saw the pictures he tried to forget and thought 'Why do they call this stupid thing a glove compartment??' and ive managed to confuse myslef so i'm done... |
