A very brief song, that only goes on for about 38 seconds, but it is a very great 38 seconds at that. A very peaceful introduction to the album, which sets the mood, and in those 38 seconds, Mike Love delivers one of his best, most sincere and beautiful vocals ever. |

As everyone has said here, one of the greatest harmonies they have ever done. While the verses sound eerily similar to "Surfer Girl" the song ends up going on some of the most unusual and brilliant chord changes of their entire catalog. A haunting brilliant song and I love how the lyrics are also imaginative, especially on the chorus when they sing: "The girls on the beach are all within reach, if you know what to do." Another example of Brian Wilson's genius. |

What else can be said about this song? One of the greatest Christmas songs of all-time. One of their best. A great, great song. Great writing and arrangement from Brian and great lyrics and delivery from Mike Love. |

A song off the brilliant "Beach Boys Today!" album from 1964 that really demonstrates Brian Wilson's genius, particular the chorus when he goes into the blistering falsetto and the amazing and unusual chord changes. A song with a very simple and silly concept is turned into a brilliant song. Another thing to note about this song is that Brian originally wrote this song for the Ronettes and, after submitting it to Phil Spector, Spector invited Brian back to his hotel room. Except when Brian got there, Spector played him the song on the piano, but with completely different words, called "Things Are Changing (For The Better)." So Brian eventually went to Gold Star Studios to play piano on the session and Spector kicked him out of the session because Brian couldn't play the song - his own - right. Eventually Spector did use it, but with a group called the Blossoms for a public service announcement on equal opportunity employment. |

A very funky song off the criminally underrated "Wild Honey" from 1967. Lead vocal by Mike with Brian singing a bit and Carl on the chorus. Great song. |

This song, from the album "Carl And The Passions: So Tough" from 1972 is one of the best songs they have ever done. The harmonies are pure magic and everyone's voices sound sublime. Carl's vocals in their finest hour. A very peaceful and addictive song. Amazingly beautiful and one of the best things they put out in the 1970's. |

This song, also done with Dean Torrence of Jan And Dean, is probably the most overrated song in their catalog. A very corny, yet catchy song... but should not be included in any "Best Of The Beach Boys" list. |
