oh, jesus. i admit that conor has a few good songs ("lua" and "lover i don't have to love" among them), but this is just HORRIBLE. do you people have no ears? his voice is horrible! his voice is his other songs is at least acceptable, if bland. in this song, he's just saying "hey, let me smoke a pack before i sing this song, and people will comment on how RAW my voice is, and i'll get so many dylan comparisons, even though most of my fans don't even know who dylan is. and even though my entire career couldn't produce a song that even comes close to matching dylan's worst song." even the lyrics are insincere, the type of lyrics that might steal a few fans from dashboard. "But I believe that lovers should be tied together/ And thrown into the ocean in the worst of weather"? fuck him, and his complete pretentiousness. |
