...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead – How Near How Far Lyrics 19 years ago
While the religion theory is interesting, didn't Conrad Keely write on the official site that he occasionally writes hymns and directs church plays? Unless he was joking, it seemed like it was true.

TANS D must have good hearing as well! I've wondered for the lognest time what Paul was singing in that part of the song.

Anyway, it's such a beautiful song. I love everything about it, the military esque drummiing, the echoey guitars and Paul's tearfulvoice, great stuff! I wish I could find more songs like it (hah, or if you know of any similar, let me know, eh...)

The oral sex interpretation is a little weird, even if plausible. However, I'd prefer it to be the theory at the fanlisting(whoever it is that thought it up, I came across it on google): http://www.almeidaisgod.com/kiki/stella/

it says:

The meaning of "Stella" is open to interpretation. My personal view, after analyzing the lyrics and the tone evoked by the accompanying music, is that "Stella" is written as a requiem to a psychologically troubled former lover who committed suicide by drowning, and the narrator's failure to express his feelings for her until it was too late. It conjures up very morbid, Ophelia-esque imagery in my mind when I listen to it. I imagine Stella, standing at the top of a tall, rocky bluff, a flowing white dress and thick dark hair billowing around her as she plunges into the cold, raging sea below, never to be seen again.

Upon even further reflection, it is also possible that the drowning of Stella in the song could be intended as an extended metaphor referencing the real Stella's suicide by some other method -- for example, sleeping pill overdose or other type of drug overdose. The metaphor of drowning or going lost at sea has often been applied to overdose deaths ("going under", "floating away").

Nonetheless, the writer of the song is clearly holding Stella up as an Ophelian figure.

Anti-Flag – Fuck The Pope Lyrics 19 years ago
It's just kinda upsetting. I mean, atleast The Damned weren't showing actual hatred in their song Anti Pope.

"I've got nothing against church
Or the people who go there and show there". Unless that's sarcasm.

Anti-Flag – Fuck The Pope Lyrics 19 years ago
Sorry some1_named_no_1, but you're kinda wrong there.

Catholics don't hate gays at all. They think it's a dangerous thing to practice but they don't HATE them.

Also, child-molesting priests are not given "divine favor". Many are excommunitcated. Not to mention, LESS than 1 % of priests in the church even molested, and many of those so called "molestations" were with adolescent males - so it's more like gay sex than total molestation.

"Did you know the Pope at the time of world war 2 was anti-semetic and didn't want to save any people from the Holocaust?"

You really ought to do your research on that one. Haha.

I have to say I am dissapointed with Anti Flag on this one. Disgusting.
