i dont get why this song has less comments than the rest, its by far the best on the album. yeah definetly a good song, the kind you like the first time you listen to it. and of course the meaning, its about not knowing why things are the way they are. |

its not like you have to be on drugs to like the song. im sure lots of pink floyd fans listen to the music while there not stoned or trippin too. ive never done acid but i have done plenty of other drugs mostly just whatever i can get my hands on, and what it has taught me is that this music is influenced by it, you should be glad (thing) their is such a thing as acid because arguably without it this song would not exist. |

i remember my first robo-trip i drank a bottle and nothing happened until like an hour and a half later. then my mom came home 2 and a half hours after i drank it and i couldnt even see across the room. she brought home pizza and it took me half an hour to eat two pieces and my pupils were the size of dinner plates but she didnt notice anything was up. back then the taste didnt bother me but now i couldnt get a gulp down without an uncontrollable urge to vomit. |

alcohol is honestly a scourge. there are other drugs that are so much less destructive out there that make you so much more open and teach you things and give you a new perspective, but alcohol doesnt do that. it pisses me off how people are scared of so many "hard drugs" but act like alcohol is nothing when in fact alcohol causes as many/more problems. |

ive only ever heard johnny cash's performance of this song on the local radio station, and normally i dont like this kind of sad lyrical content, but the lyrics are very powerful in this song unlike a lot of songs about being sad which can come off as sounding ungrateful and stupid. cashs performance was good enough that reznor said this song is not his anymore and is instead cash's. this is one of those songs you hear and it makes you have the same reaction every time, like tears welling up and stuff. |

yeah when i heard this i thought this song was about how his mother had everything taken away from her and how she lived in a wheelchair for the last 27 years of her life and her name was judith so that makes sense. he may have thought that his mother was blindly faithful. but after reading some other comments, this might not be true or the only meaning to the song, i am not familiar with judith of the bible. and i like how someone pointed out the difference between "fuck your christ" and "fuck you christ" this changes a lot of things. i never thought of it that way before. |

yeah actually this song is real.
download it off limewire or type this in

it sounds like kurt when he was 18, like he did on spank thru which came out on sliver the best of the box set. that song is the only one so far released off of the fecal matter demo.
and the off chance that it is fake, it still kicksass.
but id bet a lot of money that its real (10 bucks). |

its off fecal matter's illiteracy will prevail demo tape, a great one.

this sounds a lot like "annorexorcist" to me and i think it is a precursor to that song.

this is one of the best versions of this song, you can get a better recorded one thats just as cool if not cooler on the sub pop 200 compilation. nirvana has 1 track out of the 20 on it, and it is this song. you can buy it on cduniverse if you search sub pop 200 as a soundtrack.
when i first heard this, it struck a chord with me. i had already heard the wishkah version, but this one is better. he sounds kind of out of tune singing wise, but that makes it cool. the solo is absolute incredible. for all those people who think kurt is a mediocre guitar player, listen to his solo, and that was 1985, imagine how much better he got with almost another decade of guitar playing on top of that before he died. i dont know about you guys, but everytime i got a new nirvana cd, one song in particular stood out and id listen to it then get tired of it eventually, with bleach it was love buzz, with incesticide it was dive, and with in utero it was milk it. on this cd, this was the song that i liked the most the first time i heard it, now im tired of this version
of the song. :( |

wow why dont we take everything seriously and try to break it down and solve it like a puzzle eh? you know the only people that know what a song means are the ones who wrote it. people think nirvana's lyrics are non-sensical and ambiguous, but it would really suck if all music made sense the first time you heard it, you wouldnt even have to get a feel for it. plus the more direct someone is lyric wise, the gayer the song sounds. i like how weak kurt's voice sounds in this song, i had heard it before on from the muddy banks of the wishkah, but this version is better, the drums sound so primal too. this whole is album is genious for the most part. |

yeah, he does write stuff about the end of the world, he has a song called BLOW UP THE OUTSIDE WORLD, and two songs that are right around the number ''666'' (665 and 667). so yeah, this song is most likely about the end of the world. i remember the first time i was listening to this song in the car and my mom complained it was giving her a headache so i went to another song. i like the opening lot. i dont think christianity is fading away or will very soon... its been around for 2000 years and unlike most religions before it that can say that they lasted that long, it is a worldwide thing. why do people hate jesus?! ah well, this ant no religious conversation, just addressing what perineum slicer. |

i think this song doesnt mean hes a NASCAR fan, it sounds pretty mocking to me. i think he is just writing this song about a type of person, maybe with a rich dad whose got connections, someone who was raised to think there meant to be something and that no one can stop them. overly assertive people you know. i hate those types, i am really unassertive... pretty much. |

ive always heard that his dad was the rooster, and this song is about how well he was recieved when he came back to the US (cough). just look at ''they spit on me in my homeland.'' its about his fathers alienation from everyone when he came home, they didnt like him, i dont know but maybe he had a hard time readjusting because of traumatic experiences, that definetly happened to some vets, maybe not his dad. i think its powerful, fighting for something, the gettin stomped back at home for it. |

back to song though. yes on bleach it is definetly heal a million, kill a million. you guys are wrong. wrong wrong wrong. those lines remind me of the alcohol, some people "heal themselves" others like my grandpa die from it you know... kinda goes both ways. the main theme of the song is about people doubting his abilities and whether he was really gonna become anything or make an album and a rock band like he said he would. |

i like how when the song opens up with the palm muting it sounds like your walls are gonna cave in, it vibrates your speakers and everything. i love palm muting, and too bad this is the only album nirvana does that for the most part. bleach is a great album, stunningly simple and the solos are almost dumb in some of the songs, especially floyd the barber, but it still sounds really good. nirvanas other albums were good and have never been replicated, but this one is different. i read in a review once that its more like a force than actual music you know. i think bleach is my favorite album, for a long time i didnt have a favorite nirvana album, but i think that has changed. |

| Everclear – Why I Don't Believe In God Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
|
i can see why people wouldnt believe there was such a thing as a merciful god, because bad stuff happens you know. but i was thinking about the creation of the universe and stuff, and im not trying to preach here, i was just thinking about it and i came up with a good theory. the big bang theory says that the universe started as an infinitely dense mass of matter that had no volume, then exploded and kept expanding and that is why the universe is what it is today and still expands, but there is no explanantion of where this mass started from or how it came to be in the theory, so it is incomplete. THAT is why i think there is a god, because this universe wouldnt be here without someone being a creator, and that is just as inexplicable and unfounded as the big bang theory is. so thats why i believe in a god. im not tryin to preach, just tryin to see if anyone else agrees or disagrees thats all. |
