I think this is about a relationship with an ex, or even a on-again/off-again relationship. "Yes, there's love if you want it Don't sound like no sonnet, my lord" A sonnet is a terribly ordered piece of poetry (remember back to english class: ababcdcdefefgg), so there is love for this couple, though it might not be a one step forward, two steps back type of process. When we were dating, my wife and I had such a relationship and that's how I thought of this song at the time. Like much of Urban Hymns there is also considerable drug imagery. |
