| In Flames – Vacuum Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Simply put, it's about the fact that we walk around in a big vacuum. You go to your job you get home and watch TV and then that's it. It's important working 9 to 5. It's important having acertain income. It's important to get wasted on the week ends and we keep doing it. "Listen in silence, hear our voice", that's directed to mother earth herself. How we are destroying this planet, exhausting the rainforest and whatnot. Again this is more or less directly quoted from an interview with Anders from a while back. |

"Burn my house until I end up with nothing" May be totally christian, but it's not in this song. The song goes "Burn my efforts in the end it means nothing." "When it comes down to victory within me I know that we're in for days." is not in the song either. The actual lyrics: The water drops just beg to hit me Why now, it haven't rained for days. "Whittle me down to pieces" was close but it's actually "Break me down to pieces" Read my previous comments, I quoted Anders himself in one of them. In that same interview he says (about this song) "I don't mean like a man in the clouds, or God." Christianity has never been a part of In Flames lyrics and I seriously doubt it ever will be. I think that it's great that people interpret the lyrics in a way that speaks to them on a personal level. If this means in a christian way for you, that's fine too. But on a site like this where we're talking about the actual meaning of the song (from Anders perspective) that has nothing to do with it. |

| TrentNIN, you're reading the wrong lyrics. Virtually all of that is incorrect. | |

At slash13: I'm fine with the fact that people interpret the lyrics in their own way but ... you're just WAY OFF. They'll never do lyrics like that. Anders is writing lyrics on a lot more "real" level now. I'll just quote him... "You might think this is some suicide/murder song, but "Take This Life" doesn't mean "Kill yourself" it means "Take care of this life and do something meaningful with it." It felt like whenever a big fucking mountain appeared in my life, a problem, and I managed to get over it something new came up. I felt like I needed a little push, I needed energy from somewhere." |

| In Flames – Our Infinite Struggle Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The infinite struggle about getting along... Pretty much the theme as the rest of the songs on the album. | |
| In Flames – Pacing Death's Trail Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's about life and our walk toward the grave, we're all heading there. "We live life like it's a big party, but there's a hangover" | |

This song is about people, how everything can seem fine on the surface, but underneath they're falling apart, anger, thoughts and anxiety. It's about the cleansing, to get all that out of you. To understand yourself, your life and your mistakes, to learn from them and move on. It's about asking "are you really okay?" instead of just assuming someone is fine. And make sure, because things might not be as good as they seem on the outside. |

| In Flames – Leeches Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I read in an interview that it was Fredrik Virtanen who inspired to this song. He said that all hard rockers deserve to die, he went through everything: Ugly clothes, hair etc. But the lyrics aren't about him, they're about narrow minded and ignorant people. | |
| In Flames – Come Clarity Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's just his own words, how he sees things now that he has his daughter. Why are we who we are? Have I made the right choices in life? That's the kind of clarity and awakening he wishes for and that his daughter has given him, he's not in a dream world anymore. | |

Haha, it's not about religion. ^^ It's about life, life hurts and it's supposed to... Learn from your mistakes. |
