Despite popular belief or even what the KOP said himself, this song was not written by Michael about his brother's groupies. Although he might claim that he never had sex until he was married, the man is lying. I have no way of knowing this for sure but I will tell you that songs like Billie Jean and Dirty Diana were not songs written by a virgin. I feel it would be safe to assume that MJ himself had groupies himself and yes he did sleep with them. That aside. It is my opinion that MJ is the greatest solo artist of al time. He is worldwide, the best selling artist of all time both solo and all together if you add the Jackson 5, he takes out the Beatles. Don't argue with record sales. This song was his greatest work (among many great songs). His dance was the physicall embodiment of the song and that is what the moonwalk is. The success reached by Thriller the album will not be met anytime soon. Just watch! |

Let me start by saying that this is the most difficult song to understand and to comment on. It is my honest opinion that it is the GREATEST song ever created. The song in itself is a piece of history. Also, there is much more to this song then meets the eye. Many people refer to the BACKWARD messages. I have listened to it many times both forward and backward. As far as the reverse lyrics, I do not think they are satanic. They seem more like he was trapped in satan. Another thing about BACKMASKING or (music in reverse): If you want to say coincidence, the odds on one english word meaning another enlish word backmasked, very unlikely, not impossible. And entire sentence would be even more unlikely. For an entire sentence to be proper english grammer and keep tone, almost impossible. However, for an entire song to work both ways and keep meaning both ways, it no longer becomes coincidence, it becomes ungodly. I have picked this backwards version apart, translating about 65% for sure, another 10% could be a toss up between 2 words, and the other 25% being a judgement call. Not only that but I have cut out the pauses and guitar solo so only the words are present, I have also changed the speed and pitch in an effort to clearify the words, but I never changed the original product, nor did I rearrange anything. All I can say is that Stairway to Heaven is a great song, and the meanings behind it, the clues forward that lead to the backward, are really surreal. Put that aside, this song is legendary and will forever go down as the best umong those who appreciate true music. |
