i think that even if this song is about drug use (which i'm thinking it definately is), the cocain could also be referred to metaphorically. like, he's messed up on something that's tearing him up mentally and physically that isn't necessarily cocain. even though this isn't what he's talking about, a listener could take it as something like that. I kinda do. It's just whatever applies, know? since that is pretty much the focus of this song, the rest of what he talks about in relation to the drug use can be related to whatever the listener is equating to it. that's how i feel. oh and the music is just sex. |

No one has said anything about the final part that is nearly identical, the part about "tap our Sunday heads" and "too far along in our crime" talking about since they are lesbian, when they go to church, they become the 'zombies' they are at school because they don't want to be judged by the church family. Also I think that the girls think what they're doing is wrong because they recognize that they are too far along in their Crime, their Sins. Either they think its wrong or they know that the people at church will call their sexuality a crime. I think they feel like what they're doing is a crime against their religion (they're how old? ...point I'm making is that being raised in a church makes people have less freedom of real choice untill they're older and they usually drop they're religion after that - I'm coming from a Christian standpoint, I don't know much about other religions) and they are questioning their religion altogether. There hasn't been any focus on the religious aspects of this song, but so many of the Shins' lyrics are very much against the more seemingly-corrupt aspects of Christian Groups. |

this song is about girls being idiots and guys letting them get to you but then they all the sudden care a lot about you and your meaninglessness after you dont matter. the chinese stars are awfully love/sex/death/drug oriented lyrically, but its all to dance to so don't worry about what it MEANS just frikin dance. |
