Led Zeppelin – Babe I'm Gonna Leave You Lyrics 18 years ago
Although in the literate sense, the song is about leaving a loved one, my belief is that this song is about Plant trying to convince himself that he's leaving someone... something from his life. In my opinion, he is trying real hard to drop his addiction to alcoholism (alcohol is usually referred to as a female, someone who never leaves your side when you're downlow... alcohol makes you, or at least, is consumed by addicts to forget things, etc.). His repeated use of saying "I'm leaving" is the piece, or phrase, should I say, that is what makes the listener realize, he's convincing himself (someone who leaves someone/something would be more like "I'm leaving, bye" and that's it.). But he's trailing on it, he's looking back to see if he's being followed... He's mentally saying to himself "I'm really gonna go... Hey, are you listening? I'm really gonna go..."

Yeah, that's at least what I understand from this song.
The arrangement is awesome, Gotta love ZoSo.

Atreyu – Her Portrait In Black Lyrics 19 years ago
I think not.

Alex's voice has definately gotten better, though I find this an odd transition between The Curse and A Death Grip On Yesterday (this song is more leaned towards The Curse songs than the softer songs of A Death Grip On Yesterday).

Marc is definately doing vocals in this song, scream vocals to be exact. This particular song shows the changes the band has gone through, and in my opinion, changes that they will only benefit from as a group.

As for the song itself, I'm going to be real quick about it; I believe the song is about a girl (as obvious as it is), how no matter what, be it the horrors of life and the pain and sorrow one goes through, there will always be that one person that will stand by your side... and that's the girl they're talking about.

"Death won't hold you, as tight as she will"

"Can you feel her burning through your veins?
She will always live forever..."

These two lines support my statement; the girl that cares, the girl that loves you no matter what, she will always be by your side, even during the darkest of hours.

Atreyu – Corseting Lyrics 19 years ago
hahaha...

I believe this is what the song is about;

He's broken up with someone, said to himself "this is it, no more of you", so he tries to erase everything about the girl from his head.

But the girl comes back, she's done her evils to him (could be cheating, maybe she stole from him, or he caught her in the act).

He's trying to get rid of her, from her mind... all the words that conflict, they are representing his thoughts about wanting her out of his mind, yet at the same time, he can't forget about her, she's making it hard on him to forget by being dead on in his sights.

Atreyu – Lip Gloss and Black Lyrics 19 years ago
Even after The Curse, A Death Grip On Yesterday, and their one song in the Underworld Evolution Soundtrack (Her Portrait In Black), Atreyu has never written (both lyrically and instrumentally) a song with so much power and meaning that exceeds Lip Gloss And Black.

This is by far, my favorite song of all time, both from Atreyu's overall, and my favorite bands.

Like all of their songs (and it never gets boring, that's for sure), each song is dynamic and harmonically flawless. Just the intro itself, as simple as it may seems, lets the audience know that this song is going to be powerful.

The lyrics are one of the few that have ever been well written by a Hardcore band. A true representation in itself, and even the chorus, that allows those who listen, to realize how powerful Alex's emotions have been writteninto this song.

As if the dynamic factor wasn't enough, classical piano is added on to the song, the bridge between the middle and grand finale. The solo is not complicated, but very very catchy. It allows you to experience the entirety of the song, kind of like a sum of all the events in the past years.

And of course, nothing better sums up what we are about, what one must do, or rather, go through, in order to achieve complete satisfaction in one's self.

Live.
Love.
Burn.
Die.

HIM – Buried Alive By Love Lyrics 19 years ago
LOL, the funniest thing about this specific group is that you have all failed to let the public know what this song means (including me, and in exception to about 2-3 people).

I mostly like HIM because of it's riffs; not fanciful, but plenty enough to catch your ear's attention. Still, it's not like it's never been heard before (here in lies the truth to Quiffporn's statements, see Pg1 for "How To Create A HIM Song"). The lyrics are ok, and yes, that dark depressing mood given to them sometimes gets stale.

Ville Valo stated himself (on a review about one of his songs in his new album, Dark Light), that the lyrics were all bullshit. "Rip Out The Wings Of A Butterfly", though with a very cool start to the song, has the crappiest set of lyrics I've seen to date, the corniest song name, and to top it off, Valo said that the lyrics were inspired by gloomy goth kids who cut themselves (just to give you the short story about what he thought of the song).

Don't get me wrong though, I think he's one of the best singers ever, he's got such a cool voice with a big range, and Linde is one badass guitar player, though not the best.

Oh yeah, Buried Alive By Love is my favorite song out of HIM... and as stated before, it's because of the riffs.
