| Lightyear – Nuff Cuts Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song is about "a crap superhero" or by the looks of the lyrics a number of different ones. a comic book based on this song has been drawn by a local artist called Jonny Red Create To Destroy is his website which shows some of the frames. If you get a chance grab a copy. | |
| Rancid – Animosity Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| animosity means active hostility or a hatred, so its pointing out Tim's hatred of society and social control as a whole, with helicopters and security cameras etc. | |
| Rancid – Black Lung Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i dont see why fuckfaces like 2dman waste their time posting on songs that mean absoloutely nothing to them, and they obviously cant even make any sort of attempt to contribute to the discussion. The second line actually reads: "Union is in bed with the coal operators" this has some connection (possibly) with the workers union being paid off by the organisations who are making money off the workers. So the miners were sold out by the union for money. Also Hey young believer/unbeliever (Hey) Black lung fever (Hey) Transmit receiver (Hey) Backed up deceiver (Hey) Well I don't like it either (Hey) We're all presidents for the (Hey) Black lung fever (Hey) "Backed up deciever" could quite easily refer to the fact that the workers were being decieved by everyone, including the unions that were supposed to protect their rights. all speculation, my friends ;-) |

| Rancid – Brad Logan Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| can i be maybe the first to say that this website is called "song MEANINGS" - im interested in the MEANINGS of this SONG, not how it makes you feel and just that, i want to know what the fuck this song is about, i really couldnt care less where you first heard this song, or how much cooler you are because you first heard rancid. Brad Logan is the guitarist in F-Minus, grew up on the NY/HC Scene, now also (and more famously) plays guitar in Leftover Crack, also from New York. This song seems to be written about living on the streets and going out at night "i spend my day in blindness, at night i get my vision" or something similar to that. Any elaboration would be appreciated. | |
| Manic Street Preachers – Black Dog on My Shoulder Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Winston Churchill suffered from Bipolar disorder, and his depression was described by him as his black dog. "Winston Churchill, can you hear my voice?" basically says it all. |

| Lightyear – 200 Kebab Shops Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"The point of this song was to say that as well as seeing hundreds of venues last year, we also saw hundreds of kebab shops; and that touring can be very mentally and physically tiring." if you need help interepreting that, kill yourself. Household name is the label they are on. This is about why they split up. The last bit says "im so slack" not Sad. |

| Lightyear – Spotcheck Lyrics | 19 years ago |

can i just say the first few lines are: "Stop your negative ways You've been crying now for days" that makes alot more sense if you read it with the rest of the song. nice one |

| NOFX – The Man I Killed Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
what the fuck kind of statement is that? why would you waste your time typing that? or is it your attempt at a profound anti-bush statement. The song is most likely written from the point of view of Stanley "Tookie" Williams, a man given the death penalty for the murder of one guy. "Executed by the state, all appeals would be in vain I was not criminally insane, in fact I was found to be An otherwise caring and respectable member of society A minor threat except for that one man I killed" Sums it all up. Engage your fucking brain before using it in such counter productive ways, fucktard. |

| Refused – New Noise Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| who knows if im the first to comment how CRAZY TOWN murdered this song, and used the refused as a way of making themselves more desirable to all the alternative kids who claim to love the refused but merely do the same as crazy town in completely missing the point. Dennis Lyxzen pointed out that if Crazy Town really paid attention the what New Noise was about, they wouldnt be in crazy town. It displeases me when such a message goes to waste on such fucking morons | |
| Refused – The Apollo Programme Was A Hoax Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
this song has got to be what Redemption Song was to Bob Marley. This pretty much underlines the refused anarchic views and what they are trying to do and trying to make people think about "its time to flip some coins, and its time to turn some tables" Fucking Brilliant to say the least. |

| Refused – Summerholidays vs. Punkroutine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| lets face it though, everyone discussing the refused in their aftermath make them alot more well known, and like alot of greats they are post-humously appreciated more than they ever were or ever could be during their life. But i mean i dunno if Dennis is talking only about The Refused when he says "rather be forgotten than remembered for giving in" because surely by clinging onto his refused "Fame" in order to bring T(i)NC to popularity, hes not being forgotten at all. But then again hes not being remembered for giving in. Its an argument that my friend raised and ive had to think about more deeply really. Im not a huge fan of the noise consipracy, but as far as i can tell they are just a more accessable and acceptable version of the refused, with different values due to the fact that they arent so heavily associated with the underground hardcore scene. Maybe its just another chance for Lyxen to do what he loves doing, and why not, and maybe its another chance to spread his philosophy, but it could easily be seen as him personally selling out. | |
| Refused – Worms Of The Senses/Faculties Of The Skull Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| even a well done techno bit at the end indeed, just shows the musical genius. The song is just Dennis having a go at the capitalist culture and how sick of it he is. How we are all born as consumers and how he has done his best to get out of that "i took the first bus out of coca-cola city" and "Shell Town". Probably also talking about the general bouigeoisie "blame the poor, blame the uneducated and blame the sick", the rich pointing out the problems at the poor and using them as a scapegoat for all the problems in society. | |
| Refused – Refused Are Fuckin' Dead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| to be honest its best that refused split after The Shape Of Punk To Come, as i doubt they would have been able to top it. Also it looks like they were sick of the scene cliches and the predictability of the culture. probably also sick of the celebritism associated with being in a band etc etc. Good song also. | |
| Refused – Hate Breeds Hate Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i think the title "hate breeds hate" refers to the fact that going out and destroying things such as "terrorism" is infact terrorism, enforcing your views against people that are trying to enforce their views against you, you're merely doing the same thing. And yes, through violent means, and this hatred breeds hatred towards yourself, all the problems that america face with terrorism were self-inflicted. Also the dog-eat-dog world of business and the capitalist culture that people are born into as a consumer is highlighted. Also the fake democracy that people are born into believing exists when really its just an illusion, for instance anti war marches featuring millions of people were just ignored and we call this a democracy? "foundation of a nation, built on fucking lies" or as Bill Hicks would say "Keep repeating, "we are free!" to do what they tell you" |
