In reply to Bongo's comment about the outro and why it how it is... Sir psycho sexy is the spiritual ending to Blood Sugar Sex Magik.. Red Hot is just a joke outre ending. What this means is that it embodies the slow change from funk to melody, and represents the bands change in attitude and music. The next album "Californication" Is a lot more melody orientated. Sir psycho sexy, although in crude form is about sex, has an underlying message of moving on, and, not exactly growing up, but of change. |

well, as if he's a hollow tree. not like being filled with a hollow tree if yuo catch my drift...theres symbolism in that line too....Trees are life giving, providing oxygen for the masses, and peopel should aim to please and help others live to, but this is a farce, because everyones empty to things, unless its part of them. S o being filled up is getting the gift of life giving ( or general helpfulness) back. |

hmm...I have a slightly different take on it. the opening of the song is about ants. not literally, but it expalians the human multi conscience. The great wall of china, the pyramids, and even simpler, less significant things all have a human cost. When we think of we war we empathise for all the poor dead soldiers, but when we think of the pyramids, we think Wow, that just goes to show what humans are capable of. The song then goes into "For indigenously Degenously" (by the way, i dont think that digenously is a seperate word, i think its there for effect.) ok so, when in their natural state and environment, human thoguhts are a private blue chip, but are we in our natural state? nope. our thoughts are not only not our own, they are also influenced and controlled.
The lines "we're the prophetic generation of bottled water" does explain how little we care for our peers, but it also explains consumerism, and how propaganda and advertisements control our minds."You, you went beyond and you lost it all Why did you go there From

right, personally i get the picture of someone who's renounced society. His friend can't understand why she would choose to live without a house or any of the "civilised" Items that humans "need". He gets so het up on the fact that his friend has "lost it all" (When in fact she hasnt, depending on your view of things) that when he understand why she did it, the full horror hits him "Dreaming of screaming". He has seen what she already knew, that people die all the time for the tiniest consumer goodsand he cant take it. There is a little more to type, but i'll leave that for another time, because i cant keep changing the song back. |

my favourite system song..I think it about outside context problems. We don't actually know whats going on, but we think we do, and we think we don't like it..."what is in us that turns a deaf ear to the cries of human suffering?" Greed. Blatant genetic greed. thats all it is, and i think this song is saying that everything boils down to nothing. "Justified candy, brandy for the nerves". justifying anything, including "human suffering" becomes so easy after letting the little things (candy) slip through. It's a legendary song.. |
