I agree that it could be about a break up. I think the guy is still in love with the girl and pretty much hes just becoming depressed and worse ("Goes to show my continual decline"). They probably had a fight and she left: "But I don't really need that now I never really did anyhow I only really needed alcohol Something that'd treat me okay And wouldn't say the things you'd say Please turn out the light I get a sick confusion headache Trying to figure out who's right" I think the rest of the song kind of explains itself, people telling him its alright and she'll come back ("They say that I'll recover My love of her Once in a while") I think the part that goes "I remember, I remember why I dream in black and white" could be about the picture they took together being black and white, and even in dreams he can't stop thinking about her, or it could be that he thinks of things or situations as being black and white, and no greys or inbetweens and that could have been a reason they aren't together? Just what I think. |

I dunno, to me it seems like he's talking to someone, not about himself. Like he's trying to find out who the person really is and not the fake front that person he's talking to puts up for everyone to believe. It seems like he is trying to confide with the person or maybe help them realize because he was the same way? Since he says "If you remember, I've been trying to get back to the center, I'm sure it's not like it was before" Maybe he's saying "If you remember, I was like you, trying to make everyone happy, but now I think differently and I think on my own and not in a way to just satisfy someone." To me when he sings "what makes you so scared? maybe you're mistaken for someone who cares" I think he's saying "Why are you afraid of being yourself? You think I really care if you're one way or another? You shouldn't care what I or other people think." Then later he sings "Patience, Both we and our words are over produced by influence." Is pretty much as it says, different influences make a person, no one is really an individual or original in their thoughts or opinions, but we make our own opinions and thoughts based on those that are exposed to us. I'm not really sure what the patience means, maybe it's that if you're patient, you'll realize what he sees. Just what I think ;X |

I think it's about how Jesus died for us on the cross to show his love for us, but we don't really believe or love him, or we still do bad things even though we know he died for us? When it says "It was never easy to show them I loved them" is him speaking, and "if only gratitude could get you somewhere" And the part talking about the censorship, I think is about how he was burtally beaten but when you look at a statue of Jesus crucified it doesn't look that beaten up. And now we just hang up his cross like living room decoration. I don't really get the white whore thing, but thats what I think it's talking about. |
