this song is absolute winter pop, slightly out-of-this world and a little bit violent... snow brigade is a very good nickname for mew themselves, with all the ice, snow, lonliness and winter in their songs, and yet they are like a rescue... there is a kind of vibrancy in all that, so i say THEY are the snow brigade. |

i think literally this is about a plane crash, but it also has alot of emotional content. maybe from a pilot's perspective. -he is flying back across the world to his love, and yet his plane goes down. "what made you fall" could be, why did he crash, or why did he fall in love. the whole crash thing could be a metaphor for falling in love, and then crashing and burning when you are rejected. "a nice way" makes me think he's waking up in heaven, with someone he's lost. or that he's coming to after the crash, and is just glad to be alive. |

it seems to me that farah and the singer are in a relationship, but its fairly one sided. perhaps he wants to marry her "diamond ring...." but she isn't that commited, "but you can't find it"... which kind of sucks ..."cold is the night" i think everyone has been here, maybe thats why this song is so popular. Am I wry? could be like asking, do i feel cynical about this relationship, and the answer is no, i don't care, i'm going to do this anyway. farah could just be a name for the quintessential "she's not that into you" girl. |
