This song is a brilliant one; it’s doesn’t have unusual metaphors or anything, it just makes a few comments on society. I found this one particularly good: “Everyone’s looking at death from the sky” : This is so true of us. When we hear about a bombing or something we go “Aww, that’s bad” but deep down we don’t really care; we kid ourselves into thinking we know death when we really don’t have all that a close relationship with it, just because we see a picture of people suffering. One more thing: “Everyone’s waiting for news on TV” : Remember recently when crime rates in Iran dropped when their leader fell ill because supposedly everyone was inside trying to find out the latest on the guy? A perfect example of this line in society. |
