The Pink Spiders – Hey Jane Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is about a girl who starts off poor working her way through college. She enjoys the simple things, hence the pinball machine, and is headed in the right direction in life, going to school and such, but as the song goes on she loses herself. She may have been poor in the first half but life was good and she was happy, but when she gets a good job she starts getting into drugs and loses that good job. Now she's poor, into drugs and life sucks. Basically, as it says, don't let your income determine your life's outcome. Just because you have a crappy job and are poor, you can be happy with a good life. Same goes with the good job. Just cause you are making money, doesn't mean you won't have problems and life won't suck. No matter how much you make, you decide what you get out of life.

The Network – Roshambo Lyrics 16 years ago
Today was the first day I actually sat down and listened to this song. I haven't given The Network a chance. Never was crazy about them, though I did like the song Spike and Supermodel Robots. But I started randomly listening to the CD on my iPod (thought I'd give em another try) and couldn't get this song out of my head. I think this song is about someone who knows what they believe... in a way. By telling us the things he doesn't believe in, it in a way shows his beliefs, which in turns show how unique and important it is to believe in that one person, whether it be a lover or just a friend. Make sense? Kinda like the overall meaning of the song is having that special connection with someone, whether lover or friend.

Oh, and I love the line: "I don't believe in compromising my own beliefs inside my head." Genius.

Green Day – Restless Heart Syndrome Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is about how addicted America has become to prescription medication. We have a cure and a pill for everything out there, thus the "I think they found another cure/for broken hearts and feeling insecure." We have prescriptions for when we're too sad, too happy, can't concentrate, can't sleep, to lose weight, have sex, have better sex, birth control, fertility drugs,...you name it we have a pill for it and it's all commonly advertised on TV. Every other commercial is some new drug. We rely too much on prescription medication.
