Maybe it's fitting of my particular situation, but I feel like he's singing his proposal to her. "Whichever come, what may, you see I need to know tonight...do you want to be my one and only love" A simple statement but one that conveys such an outpouring of emotion that you can almost feel his longing for her to stop him in mid-song to answer. |

I love this song for the exact same reasons as marchingsoldier. It's such a fun song to sing and play with an acoustic guitar. The line "because I've got to be your essential to survive", in my opinion, means that it is up to God's people to spread his word. Like another way of saying "Go ye therefore unto all nations..." Relient K is so good at infusing their songs with Jesus and a great message without always specifically using the normal "churchy" words. I love it. |

| Yeah, I agree that it's about the less popular girl 'getting back' at the girl that every high school has who is the Most Everything Girl. But I also think the girl is happy with who she is because who doesn't like 'the girl next door'? I was not in the band in high school but had plenty of friends who were. They were all cool and pretty in their own right... | |
