| Fall Out Boy – The Take Over, the Breaks Over Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I definitely think "wouldn't you rather be a widow than a divorcee" is the most powerful line in this song. I guess it means its better to have a failed marriage due to death than having a marriage that failed because of your own problems. Maybe it ties into something else, rather than marriage, but I'm not sure. I think the "we do it in the dark.." part refers to a show. The darkness of the stage and what not. |

| Fall Out Boy – The (After) Life of the Party Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song definitely feels like something I've heard before from FOB. I just can't put my finger on the song it reminds me of. I love the sound of it though. | |
| Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Isn't it "from getting you into the mood" and not "forgetting you to the moon"? Anyway, I think its more important to interpret songs for the general meaning rather than what incident it pertains to in Pete Wentz's life. I think the line "and I want these words to make things right, but its the wrongs that make the words come to life"...is about how much easier it is to get good lyrics when everything is wrong. You want writing to be a form of therapy, but you get the best lines when life isn't so great. As for the rest of the song, I think it is about some sort of relationship falling apart, and feeling cynical about it afterwards, especially when the other person (be it a friend or a significant other) moves on. |

| Fall Out Boy – Golden Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Well, I think the first line "how cruel is the golden rule" could refer to the "Golden rule" in religion (do unto others as you would want done to you). "I saw God cry in the reflection of my enemies" could mean realizing you haven't abided by this rule and it let people down. I think the whole song is basically about feeling like you've let everyone down. Its about feeling like no one wants anything to do with you. I also think its about realizing your faults, even though you have tried to cover them up with good acts. This isn't my favorite song on the album, but its growing on me. The lyrics are open for so many interpretations as well. |

I can't wait until the CD actually comes out, cause hopefully the notes will have the lyrics. This song really rocks though |

| Something Corporate – Konstantine Lyrics | 19 years ago |

ok, i couldnt read all 55 pages of this...but it seems everyone has the same idea of this song. in my vision, the ending is sort of happy. this song gives me this image of a couple that is in a struggling relationship. it seems his dreams are getting in the way of everything, and he has hurt her and they're trying to get past it all. it keeps going back to this line "we don't have much room to live." its hard to explain what this line means to me, but its definitely portraying the difficulty of this relationship. Then it gets to this whole "i miss you" part. Maybe they finally ended the relationship, or maybe he means he misses the happiness. Either way, at the end, I see hope."But then you bring me home, and we'll go to sleep but this time not alone, and then you'll kiss me in your living room.." They realize that missing each other is even more painful than the hurt that they put each other through. And that they don't really need that "room to live". Everyone will always want it, but as long as they have each other, that's all they really need. |

| Motion City Soundtrack – The Future Freaks Me Out Lyrics | 19 years ago |

maybe i'm going too deep into this but... does anyone else thing that its about really being "freaked out" by the future? or maybe not being able to control your life, maybe because of laziness, maybe because of fear. and the whole "betty, i need you, i miss you" is about how justin actually pursued his dreams, and left her behind. i was even thinking maybe betty died or something. i remember that motion city soundtrack said their idea for this honorable video was totally butchered - and justin is in a coffin for a part of a video ... i don't know. its a possibilty |

| The Fray – How To Save A Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
hmm..at first i thought it was about maybe a suicide or something...or maybe even a breakup like, a girl is trying to tell the guy whats wrong and that if its not fixed, its over. and the chorus seems to imply a suicide of some sort, not necessarily physical, but maybe ruining your life. but when i heard it was about mentoring a crack addict, it made a whole lot more sense and was even more touching. |

| The Format – On Your Porch Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
this is my favorite song by the format and probably one of my favorite songs ever. at first, i thought maybe the first lines up until "i turn to you, and i let you know...that i love you" were about a girl that he loved, but after hearing the rest of the song, i realized that he was probably still talking about his father. all in all, i think its about his sick father, and how he was scared to lose him. he wanted so badly to run away, but his dad told him that it was going to be ok. that it was time to pursue his dreams and even if he failed, he would always be successful in his parents eyes because he tried his hardest. he then proceeds to say how he did follow those dreams and now has to prove to his parents and everyone else that he can do it. as for "its time to get out of the desert and into the sun"...its sort of like a play on words. in the desert, the sun is everywhere. but he's saying getting into the sun as if it were a spotlight. he then concludes that even though its been hard, if he fails he knows he tried, and thats enough. i always loved the line "i can see there eyes, but tell me something, can they seen mine?" |

| Dog's Eye View – Umbrella Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
this guy is falling in love with a girl "i've been falling like the rain" but she won't let him in...she's not returning the feelings or letting him love her. "but you've got your umbrella in my way" he had everything he could have wanted, maybe another girl or something.."i had the sun in my hands"...but he gave it all up for her..either because he's so in love with her, or because she didn't approve..."till you said you like the rain" and even though she won't let him love her, he's going to keep trying. |

| Fall Out Boy – Tell That Mick He Just Made My List of Things to Do Today Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
this song is about breaking up with a girl who cheated on you, but claimed that it "didn't count" cause she was drunk. pete explains it in an answer to a fan's questions on falloutboyrock.com...a girl asks what she should do becauses she's still in love with her ex, and when she cheated on him it didn't count cause she was drunk..pete replied: i apologize for not being on your side on this one: "but it didnt count cuz i was drunk" is not an excuse. neither is "it didn't count cause i was in another country".... for further proof of this please see: "tell that mick he just made my list of things to do today" and "my heart is the worst kind of weapon"- thats what i had to say when someone used that excuse on me. this explanation becomes evident in the lines: "i hope you choke on those words, that kiss, that bottle" |
