It's definitely "the chance" not "the sex." And I'm pretty sure those aren't drug references, it's just referring to the fact that they're calling and they're very emotional. You break up with somebody and then you see that person having a good time and it kinda sucks, you get jealous. "He doesn't want her out there" not because he's scared of her being all alone and getting hurt, but because he's scared of her being all alone and finding someone new. |

I'm not sure I quite finished my interpretation. I left out my favorite line, that being the end of the chorus, "the best that we can hope for is to be laughing when we finally hit the ground." As long as you can die happy doing what you want to be doing then, well, you win. That's the best that anyone can ask for is to be happy when they die.
Or perhaps just to be so hard-headed as to arrogantly laugh in the face of death. |

The translation for the song title is "No Name," without a name, nameless.
"Put up wet" refers to riding a horse "hard" to exhaustion and putting him up "wet," rather than brushing him off and cooling him down as should be done.
To me this song is about living a life that you love, in this case that of a cowboy even though it's the hard life. It sounds as if he's being chased in the song, as well, and I would think that he's just longing for an easier, "better" life except the chorus makes me think otherwise. The chorus seems to be alluding to a cowboy who's surrendered his wild and restless heart, and the life so loved by the singer, in favor of the less worthy love of a woman. |

Another great version is the one by Rufus Wainwright, I'd check that one out if you like this. I like the Rufus version better than the Buckley version, but maybe that's just because I heard it first and I'm biased. |

I think you may be right, DHMachine31. I submitted the lyrics, or at least the jibberish of lyrics that I could figure out, but I may have mixed up those two songs. Oops :-/ |
