Could be that it is made ambiguous so that you, the listener, must decide what "H." stands for. This would tie in with the whole "angel and devil on shoulder - cartoon" thing that Maynard mentioned.
Alternatively, it could be any of the above points. A friend also offered "Hitler". |

This is probably my favourite song of all time. Whether it really has a meaning or not, it is full of undescribable energy. If listened to loud, it creates such a psyched-up atmosphere. The riff is simply amazing. The album was a shocker in comparison to Maiden's other stuff, but just for this song it was fantastic. Worth buying. |

Amazing song. Climactically, it is Judas Priest's best song. Certainly shows the extent of their strong vocal power. |

Yeah, ti's goddamn freaky. Make sure you get the timing perfect though - otherwise it loses it's effect. By the way, it's viginti tres first. |

See, I can get off on watching this guy make a fuck of himself, just as people can watching others get fucked on T.V. |

Maybe so, but anyone create a meaningless song just so that they can laugh at people trying to figure it out - it takes a genius to make a song like "Aenema" or "Forty-Six and Two". It's possible that that is the case; though it would be too obvious, everyone would immediately expect that. Doesn't mean it can't be true, though; just don't think it would be in Tool's nature to do the expected. |

The Psalm 23 idea is a good one, but with songs like Eulogy, I doubt Tool are very religious. Though, it could show that the death had such an impact on his life. I think the key phrase is probably "23 steps to total power" though I don't know the relevance of it or how it connects to anything. Still, I can't actually hear anything being said on the track. |

Sess, you may have something there. Though I do think that the name "Useful Idiot" with its wartime meaning has a separate meaning that they're just pawns in a game of chess, just bricks in the wall, who do what they're told and get no say in the world, for they have no power and are expected to die. Hence, the lack of words contributes to their powerlessness and the silence that is their death.
Though I don't think it's a particularly deep track - I mean it doesn't have any words. Could be what jester121 said as well, though. |

This song could also be a tribute to "Judas Priest", one of the leading bands in The New Wave of British Heavy Metal, from which Maiden found much of their inspiration. Good song. |

| AFI – This Celluloid Dream Lyrics
|
Speaking purely in specifics, I'm just gonna throw a couple of ideas out there. Perhaps the narrator already is "snow" that will be "bathed in [your] radiance". When he speaks of 'you' landing "as lightly as the new snow", perhaps he is saying that she (whoever the girl is) is above him (i.e. unobtainable, more worthy, etc.) He'd like to be with her, but this "dream" is "celluloid" - it exists only in another world, another dimension; his mind, a film, etc. Thus, all he can do is but "melt" in her "radiance".
The line "All the colours...all will turn to grey"has been disputed quite a lot. Many suggestions seem accurate. Another possibility is that upon realising that his love is unobtainable, the world and all of it's components blend into one; everything loses meaning and all is nothing more, nothing less than plain, blunt "grey" "All will turn to grey". The colours represent all the emotions and feelings he once had, that are now rendered meaningless.
The final chorus, in which Davey seems to pour his heart out into his voice (scuse the cliche) is like a final cry of desperation in which he knows he can never have her, yet maybe somehow by singing out like this she'll become obtainable. It's as though he's giving it a final, useless effort, because it's all that he can do.
Either way, the song is definitely about a deep, deep love. Regardless of the lyrics it sounds far too soothing to be about anything else. Unless I'm wrong. |

| Blink-182 – Adam's Song Lyrics

I think the "Adam's" is an allusion to Adam and Eve. This, and that fact that this song is about serious depression to the point where one is depressed enough to kill oneself I think suggests that Blink 182 are speaking to guys (no offense to ladies). Statistically, men have much more trouble emotionally dealing with serious problems, such as an ended relationship. Women are smart and seek friends for help, but us guys try to take the load solo. The reference to Adam is like an anthem for guys. Though the song does show that there is a point to living at the end and that you shouldn't kill yourself, it still is very, very depressing and motivates many to do it anyway (or just aids it).
As for all the disputes about whether Blink 182 are cool or not and whether mainstream bands suck blah blah... who gives a fuck? If it sounds good, and you find something that touches you in a song - that's all you need. If you don't, go find one, don't bitch about it to those who already have. |
