It's Not a Side Effect Of The Cocaine. I Am Thinking It Must Be A Pathetic Attempt At Gaining Some Musical Credibility By Quoting David Bowie. FOB and Timberlake, it's like the shittiest music out right now is joining forces to irritate me. |

I think it's about falling for a star, and being inspired to become famous themselves... then once they become stars, they realise that it's not all it's cracked up to be, but by then they don't care. Or, you know. Totally off the mark there. Oh well! Still an awesome song. |

| David Bowie – Life on Mars? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| While I don't think this song is entirely about her, it's possible that part of Life on Mars could have been about Hermione Farthingale. Like someone else said, she did leave him for, among other things, film. Badly done film. While it's quite possible that this song has nothing to do with her, it does fit in a way. | |

I'm going to have to go with Prometeo on this. Kind of looks like... eh, the seven dwarves. I'm sure there's some other meaning to it, as well. The music video for this is *weird*, but very cool. Definitely check it out of you get the chance. |

| David Bowie – Tired of My Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think it's pretty interesting to sort of be able to see into what he felt when he was sixteen. This song has a lot of typical teen angst, but there are a lot of lyrics that I like, 'take off your silver smile' for instance, and a lot of the third bit. Oh yes, I am so technical in my comments. Just ignore me. |

| David Bowie – Rebel Rebel Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Boooo I had very bad grammar in that last comment, so just ignore my pathetic syntax and pretend I made sense. Also, I'm kind of curious as to what it MATTERS if he's gay, straight, bi, or an alien from Mars? He's still an amazing musician. | |

Okay, all you uninformend: David Bowie was bisexual in the Seventies and part of the Eighties (I think). It was much more about becoming famous and shocking people, putting on a grand performance. He's said since then that he's no longer bisexual, in fact once stating that he was always a "closet heterosexual". He's married to Iman Abdulmajid, who is a supermodel from Somalia, and he has TWO kids (not 'a bunch'), Alexandria Bowie with Iman, and Zowie / Duncan with his first wife, Angie. |

I'm not quite sure if this was written for Angie. From a lot of what I've heard, theirs was mostly a marriage of convenience and he wasn't actually in love with her. But then again, Angie was very much about fame (something this song alludes to heavily) so I'm probably wrong. |

| David Bowie – Modern Love Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
First -- I thought it was "I don't want to go out, I won't stay in,"? Secondly, I agree that it's about cycling through relationships, and how they're all so shallow and meaningless. Once again, though: WTF LINKIN PARK? Oh, shoot me. David Bowie and Linkin Park don't even belong in the same *sentence*. Except I just put them in one... ohhps. So, he doesn't find any true love in modern relationships, and he doesn't find any in modern religion. In the end, he 'walks on by', or gives up on even trying? |
