There is a definite break up theme to this album and particularly this song. "As I look at us now it seems That your slapping my back As if it's all alright But it's not I tried to get up But you're pushing me down Yeah you're pushing me down So I'll get up on my own" He is trying to be friends with his ex, but it is hard for him and breaking off completely is his solution. Her pushing him down may be her bringing up the things she did not like about him when they were going out. |

| really love this album, and this song, esp. lyrics "run along back to your new man" with that accent. this song reminds me of "The Riders" by Tim Winton where a guy is waiting for his wife to arrive, she never turns up but has been seen living at a holiday resort in Greece.
