I will say right off that I'm really not sure what this song means. But I kind of have a thought about it... Maybe he's sorry that he couldn't make his life go in the direction that he wanted it to go and he's waiting for his years to be done. Or do I have that mixed up? Is it a girl that he likes who is "say"ing the chorus? (...So I listened to what you said... Look another year went by, They keep passing by, God damn I didn't even die...) |

I can see how what raw1 said would work–good job on that. But what I got from it was, maybe it is a part of himself that he's trying to change because he's unhappy with himself and it's killing him. When he says "I tried to be someone else But nothing seemed to change I know now this is who I really am inside Falling from myself Running for a chance I know now this is who I really am." he maybe getting discouraged, trying to change for the better or however he wants to change. Then when he says "Look in my eyes You're killing me, killing me All that I wanted was you." he may be begging himself to change. Then when he says "Come break me down Break me down Break me down" his hope might be completely gone and he has no more will to try. Also, i think the video shows this explanation, because each of the guys are looking at themselves. When Jared is singing "...This is who I really am," he is grabbing his cloan and screaming it in his face. Oh well, that's just what i got from it (and I don't think i explained it clearly enough). Just about trying to fix yourself, or find yourself. Either way, it's a fucking awesome song. Kudos, Jared! |

I really like the comment PinkRockz made (p. 2). I can fully see how those things would work. I love this song, but I think the chorus could have been better, though I still like it because Buddy's voice is awesome there. The lyrics are not exactly dark, just rather morbid. Great song. |

The meaning, I see, has been taken care of, so I won't worry about that. But, I have to say, you idiots that are so hardened toward hearing other people's thoughts and/or beliefs get the hell out of here, because no one wants to put up with you and your crap. Emery is a christian band, so if anyone has a problem with that and is in denial, go dig a hole and lie in it. Find music that fits your taste. This awesome band is not going to change just because some insignificant jerk says songs pertaining to christianity suck. |

I like that this song can be seen from a male's or a female's point of view. Not just one or the other as many songs are. This is definitely one of my favorites from Emery. "Three sleepless nights This isn't how it's supposed to be But you're so good at taking your time To get back to me" ^That perfectly describes my current situation. Though, I wish it were only THREE sleepless nights, instead of countless. It freaking sucks that so many people know how this feels. I think we all can say thank you, Emery. |
