I love these lyrics. It seems a fresh way to look at the feeling of missing someone you really love. Completely original. |

This is a wonderful song. I think it's about how human relationships in general with objects and people, and how we make some of them because we're lonely and sometimes we end up getting hurt, but it helps a lot too. And I think Conor's lamenting because he doesn't have that. |

This is the best song by them (musically). I think it means how you kind of have to take responsibility for yourself and find a way out of something if you're stuck. How you shouldn't rely on others. |

I think the sea represents love, and how she's lost in it. She was unsure before but he makes everything alright and good and safe. |

It's a beautiful song.
I think it's about seeing the beauty in everything and not wanting to leave it. |

I think he's talking about being trapped everywhere he looks. He's trapped inside himself, and in the world, which is watching him every second. |

| Bright Eyes – Contrast and Compare Lyrics

I think Conor's trying to get at the boredom he has with the world and the people in it. How it all goes by and nothing pulls him in; he just watches and hates it. |

I think that Conor's songs are either meant to have more than one meaning, or they just do it on their own. To me, this song is describing how nothing ever lasts; our relationships, our possesions, even our lives and souls. Hence "all the sweetness that has passed through us". And how we fool ourselves
into thinking that they do. |
