| Bruce Dickinson – Dive! Dive! Dive! Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| A lot of this song borrows from a british T.V. show that Bruce couldn't get the rights for. | |
| Bruce Dickinson – All The Young Dudes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I guess if you consider Glam rock homosexual....but i imagine a lot of heterosexuals still listen to Kiss and Bowie.. But of course you would have to assume that all gays are cross dressers and clearly have sex with women. Anyways, this song was written by David Bowie for the Mott the Hoople band in an attempt to save it. Bruce Likes bowie, Bruce sings bowie. Everything still makes sense. |

If that's true. Brucey sucks at the English. "See his twisted sons and daughters Writhing slowly in Satan's mire " |

| Bruce Dickinson – Machine Men Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Machine Men, a phrase that to my knowledge was coined or at least popularized by another personal hero of mine, Charlie Chaplin in his famous speech at the end of the movie "The Great Dictator". The song seems to suggest that industrialization will eventually over-take humanity. | |
| Bruce Dickinson – Darkside Of Aquarius Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Probably the most brilliant line in the album is "I've gotta move the wheel of Dharma", a subtle way of saying "i got to do good things quick", as the apocalypses winds to a close. | |
| Bruce Dickinson – Gates Of Urizen Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This was a favorite for a long time. Urizen is one of 4 Zoa's created by William Blake. In particular Urizen represented reason and order of primodial man. The song seems to speculate that cold machine logic is destructive, as everything associated with urizen are damned, buring, seperated, arisen from a evil act or trapped without a means to rise again (the ladder falls away). I'm surprised i'm the first to comment on it....then again, as his 2001 tour shirt so eloquently asks "Who the f@ck is Bruce Dickinson" |

| Bruce Dickinson – Abduction Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I consider myself a Dickinson fan, but the album is disappointing. This song in particular is the avatar to my feeling of the whole album. From the beginning, the album appears to be a more personal album than past Dickinson albums. From his love of flying, history and, of course in the case of abduction, his love of science-fiction first explored in his Skunkworks days. The instrumentation was exceptional, however, due to the personal nature of Bruce Dickinson, the album at a whole was pretty decadent. Not to mention, upon cursory glance, the album art looks very cartoonish....even if it was formally a painting. I guess i've just been listening to 'The Chemical Wedding' and 'Scream for me Brazil' too long. |

| Iron Maiden – Moonchild Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I can't listen to the album without hearing it all the way through (oh crap! i sound like an iron maiden fan!) But yeah, I love this song in particular for Rhyming night and bite. Oh yeah, It went there. |

| Iron Maiden – The Clansman Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's obviously about the KKK guys! :P | |
| Iron Maiden – Wasted Years Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is my favorite Maiden song by far. The reason being; it really doesn't matter what it's about. Musician, war soldier and common man a like, who doesn't feel as if they have wasted their time on some measure of success when really all you wish is to be with your loved ones? The song often reminds me of Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller. | |
| Iron Maiden – Lord Of The Flies Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I don't think the song is so much about the book itself, but a reference to book in comparison to human nature. It appears, upon first glace, to deal positively with the theme of liberty (anarchy), and how freedom is some unmitigatedly exciting. as the song progresses, it's admitted that this anarchy is not only chaotic, but a bit scary. it ends telling that the moral and immoral of us (or unfree and free to take a Dionysian perspective on this) are both capable of the same destruction witnessed in anarchy. This seems to be supported by the promo-video that shows images of the gulf war. of course, only maiden really knows. |
