| Melody Pool – Black Dog Lyrics | 8 years ago |
|
Melody Pool has been pretty open about the meaning of the song. It is about the depression she has personally experienced, which isn't a big surprise given the title is "Black Dog". It's an amazing song, beautifully delivered. I can only imagine how powerful it would be to see her perform such a personal song live. |

| Low Roar – Nobody Loves Me Like You Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| It a beautifully composed song and you can just picture it used as a slow dance song at say a wedding. However, much like 'Every Breath You Take' you probably need not to think too much about the verse as it seems more like its talking about the ending of a relationship. | |
| James Yuill – On Your Own Lyrics | 15 years ago |

The song that introduced me to this artist through a cracking music video. |

| James Yuill – Ray Gun Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
My favourite song off his album. As to the meaning, the guy finds out this other person has or had feelings for them and they lament that they never really looked at the person in that way when it matter, that his "ray gun" was never on that person. That even if they considered it at the time his nerves or fear of rejection meant he wouldn't go after this person. Pretty much a song about missed opportunities in love. |

| Lisa Hannigan – Some Surprise (With Gary Lightbody) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Great duet. | |
| Ludacris – Move Bitch Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Seriously, this song should be played in the countless current affair stories on road rage. | |
| Jimmy Ruffin – What Becomes of the Broken Hearted? Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Beautiful song beautifully sung. You don't need to feel the same way he does because the lyrics and Ruffin's voice just takes you away. Not sure if it Ruffin's best song but it is probably my favourite. |

| Alex Lloyd – What We Started Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Beautiful song. It seems to be one party asking the other if they know what they are getting into with this relationship. That the love and happiness they feel now won't be there all the time, that they will inevitably have hard times. |

| John Farnham – That's Freedom Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Surprised no one has commented on this song. Probably my favourite from Farnham, it speaks to a person's core of what we all want: freedom. Plus in the film clip he had his awesome mullet. |

| Meat Loaf – It's All Coming Back to Me Now Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Jim Steinman does say he was influenced by "Wuthering Heights" while writing the song but there is no scene where Heathcliffe digs up Cathy's corpse and dances with it. Heathcliffe does dig up her grave (twice) but he doesn't remove her body. I'm guessing what Steinman is saying is that this song grand and operatic song about the dark side of love, as if Heathcliffe (a character utterly consumed by the darker side of love/obsession) digging up his only love and that dancing with her corpse under the pale moonlight. |

| Snow Patrol – If There's a Rocket Tie Me To It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The first song on the album and I was hook on it from the chorus snippet from the official website. I guess its about someone missing their other half who has gone away for whatever reason, though the feeling I get is not due to a break up. So he's missing her because she's not there not because he's lost her. Though I might be completely wrong about that. |

| Sarah Blasko – The Garden's End Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I really like this song, it got me into Sarah Blasko. Not sure on the meaning, it is almost like she is been stalked and she turns the game back onto her stalker. |
|
| Sarah Blasko – Always Worth It Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Lovely song that seems to just have a general meaning, that some things in life will take effort and even if in the end it doesn't end up perfectly the effort was worth it. Puts you in a nice mood, will at least it does for me! Got to say the music video has me a bit confused though. |

| Sarah Blasko – Perfect Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Forgot to add in the music video it ends with her packing a bag and walking away from her sleeping lover. It is a beautiful video as well. | |
| Sarah Blasko – Perfect Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Fantastic song. She loves him but feels she has to leave him and thinks that the best time to do it is "now" while he is sleeping. As for whether it is because she broke his trust, I think it is up to interpretation. I think that the guilt she doesn't want to feel is the guilt of staying in a relationship she knows will not work but still not wanting to leave. She is one of Australia's best female artists. |

| Augie March – Mt. Wellington Reverie Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I really like this song. Especially the haunting sounding chorus. Its pretty obvious that this song is about something in Tasmania since it mentions Mt Wellington and the Derwent river. At first I thought it was about what happened to the original Aboriginal population mainly given the last verse and chorus. Then I check on the lyrics and in the booklet it says this under the title - (Three convicts, Hobart Guest House, Marcus Clarke hails his last taxi), so this song is about convicts and the middle of the song supports it, since it has a place in histroy with a convict transport been taken over by the convicts and ended up disappearing down the Derwent. Marcus Clarke was an author from the late 1800 I think who wrote a famous Australian novel about convict times in Tasmania, I haven't read the book so I don't know if this song follows the story or not. |

| Alex Lloyd – I Wish Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
One of my favourites off his new(ish) album. Not sure if it is about a couple who have just grown distant or if they are having a fight that is ripping their relationship a part. |
