| Chris LeDoux – Rodeo Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Actually its GARY LEE AND THE SHOWDOWN. Chris LeDoux and David Allen Coe get there names pinned to a lot of songs they didn't sing | |
| Garth Brooks – Friends In Low Places Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is a song anyone can sing along to, we used to sing this on mission trips and it would drive our preacher crazy. And like most of Garth's songs much better live, but phenomenal either way | |

| Sublime – Garbage Grove Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Actually there is a seperate song called garbage grove, it deserves to be called that because it sucks compared to the original, its track 13 on second hand smoke, and some of the lyrics are different the begining the "folks don't understand" part ect, and the vocals are slightly different, its like a crappy remix. | |
| Dispatch – Open Up Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think that the Border Patrol thing is the most accurate, it makes the most sense, also the other side of the row could just be like a community's social boundary like the "wrong side of the tracks" or something like that. also "when I get back" is probably just a happier point in the song to make the main character look like a bad ass (that was sort of mentioned earlier by a smart person but I thought I would reiterate it) its not necessarily a Jesus reference, and although the story might match up a little the time frame and Spanish sort of eliminate it from being right, good thought though, you would be surprised about how many songs are about Jesus (look at all along the watchtower) And most importantly folks Jware demonstrated the right thing to do above, if you don’t know the exact meaning (like heard from the writer or band what it means) then it is only your opinion, and that’s perfectly fine, its just that realize your opinion could be wrong and quit filling up pages acting like you’ll fight to the death because something you came up with made a little sense, This song could be about balloon animals for all we know and until you do know 100% that your answer is exactly what the song meaning is, then just explain your opinion as much as you need to and leave it at that. |

| Sublime – Ball And Chain Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'd say that him saying, "I was always taught boy meets girl, Fall in love get married and forget the world Nine months later, thu*(the pornonced thu) sweet baby's on the way is just stating the common thing that most of us are always taught, stating this was just to prove a point that relationships aren't as perfect as we are lead to believe, not that that is the only kind of relationship there should be. Listen to the rest of the lyrics With a girl that you knew And the bonds that we grew Turned into a ball and chain it just turns into something different then what we are taught, not homophobia |

| Blues Traveler – Hook Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
There is no meaning in the peter pan reference. It is just that he wanted to throw something in that was random to lead you to the chorus What made pan refuse to grow. Pan was young forever mostly because he saw the Old Captain Hook and he knew he didn't want to be like him. I mean nothing deep, Popper just did that so that the chorus is answering the question at the end of the second verse. |

| Dave Matthews Band – All Along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
First off I have absolutely no preference, I love all three versions. Second of all the meaning is almost left to your interpretation and if you want to here some input on that you should check out the post on Dylan’s version. A music analyst once said that Dylan wrote the song very differently. He starts the song in the middle ends it then starts with beginning and ends in the middle just visualize this.. Start the song with All Along the Watchtower, Princes kept the view... In the original there is nothing after two riders where approaching but Dave's Ad lib makes sense, it creepily makes sense with this theory. Then after the end continue the song with There must be some way out of here Said the joker to the thief It makes perfect sense now we know who the two riders are and we aren't thrown into the middle of the conversation like before. The song ends with the end of the conversation between Joker and Thief The hour is getting late. Now as for the meaning there are a lot of theories, It’s about Gov't and how the joker and thief are the middle and lower classes, or that the joker is Dylan himself and the other people are record producers and such. But one of the more popular opinions is that it is about Jesus, which makes perfect sense with the way the song flows if you put it in order. The princes=Pilot and Herod, those who were in charge of condemning Jesus and sentencing him. The Women= Mary, most emotional women at the crucifixion, also lots of women came and went Servants= the poor morning the loss of Jesus Wild cat = soldiers at the sight who were in charge of killing Jesus if he didn't die quick enough on the cross, the rushed the crucifixion because of the holiday of Passover. The Wind = in the last moments of Christ there was a terrible storm The riders = the fact that in the bible the scene around the crosses is described before they turn to Jesus’ dialogue, this is just them coming into the story. Joker = Jesus, on tarot cards Jesus is represented as a joker. Thief = the other one being crucified who Jesus promised paradise. The dialogue between the two is Dylan's interpretation of what might have been said not a realistic biblical dialogue Businessmen = Disciples Whine & Earth = blood and body of Christ Jesus says that he can’t understand how he could sacrifice so much and they still don’t understand what it is worth to them The thief then comforts Jesus and agrees with him, then he says that they have been through life. (And this is not our fate) he realizes that Jesus will ascend to heaven and that he will save him a place. (The hour is getting late) and now its time for us to die It makes sense that Dylan would “scramble his lyrics because at the time the song came out he was Jewish but he converted to Christianity shortly after. This is probably his only way of preaching without saying it out right. He uses innuendos instead and lets us figure it out. This seems to be the popular opinion and what I personally agree with. Right or wrong its cool to think of it this way and it does fit. |

| Sublime – Waiting For My Ruca Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| well just to fill you in according the translation explained on the santeria post, Heina (Literally translated) is Hyena, Hi-E-na like the spotted little dog like animal. but it is spanish slang for girl I'm fucking. And my personal opinion is that its Bo! but in the live version it is a sound similar to a gunshot so everybody is right. Congradulations | |
