Dredg – Yatahaze Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's just about the ups and downs of life and how they wear on us. And we keep trying to find proof of why we're hear, but searching for it constantly shuts you out of the real world.

Lamb of God – Redneck Lyrics 19 years ago
I'm a huge LOG fan, but somethin strikes me as kind of funny. How someone is so against the war, yet so readily sings about beating someone. The typical tough guy metal-singer attitude just makes me laugh. Come on Randy, can't we all just get along??

Dredg – Sang Real Lyrics 19 years ago
I think the first part is how kind of sinful or deathly or abandoned he feels sometimes. And the second part of the verses is how God makes him feel: completely refreshing and relieved. From the inside out we were formed. He gave us the ability to feel. But He also gave us free will to destroy ourselves, which will eventually happen.

It's kind of like the song "Hook" by Blues Traveler. Kudos atomsplitter.

Dredg – Scissor Lock Lyrics 19 years ago
I like the references to different areas of the spectrum, radio and light. He talks about sound waves too. All of which are unseeable and necessary parts of nature. It's like the "radio" of nature tells us to play and act like we were children. Children are full or dreams and imagination and what's wrong with that? As we get older we lose sleep, and stop using our imagination, and as adults, the only times we dream is when we're asleep. We should instead be always dreaming.

Dredg – Ode to the Sun Lyrics 19 years ago
"please accept this ode"

"my heart, my ode, you're my soul."

Life is a struggle to stay in the light, and to not fall into darkness. As we head down the road of life, there are sometimes roadblocks (nice pun eh? hah), and though we crash and other people see us fail, we must stay true to the light to repair our own tattered skins. Just by glistening through the window, the light has set us free, and no matter how much darkness there is, it can never drown out light.

Dredg – Bug Eyes Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with everyone about it being the fear of death. While some people believe in reincarnation (journey back to birth) and others Heaven (departure from the Earth), we all have to deal with our own uncertainties, and to just trust them and know in our hearts that what we're doing is right.

Also, I think the beginning is not intended to be taken literally. I think when he says "Bring back those good ole days," he's being sarcastic. As if those days weren't good at all, and they tore him apart. He searches for a home. Some place to find solace. And in the end, discovers what we all desire. Faith in knowing that what do in this life, benefits the afterlife. And that we shouldn't distance ourselves, rather embrace and love each other, because it's good for our own mental and spiritual health.

"Bug Eyes" is just a term for a fearful expression or a coming-to-realization type state. Or in this case, both.

Tool – Eulogy Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's from the point of view of the people who killed Jesus. He always said that he would die for everyone, so why is it a shock that His enemies murdered Him? It's about how the Jews trivialized His followers and everything He said, like He was some crazy fool, and put His money where His mouth was. But He never backed down. He meant everything He said, and did it all for humanity, not Himself. And to me, that's so much more badass than anything that anyone's ever done. And yet to this day, we still trivialize and reject Him.

Lamb of God – In the Absence Of The Sacred Lyrics 19 years ago
It's how modern culture's technology destroys how we are human. Ever read "The Abolition of Man?" It says how in our "conquest of nature," we only destroy ourselves.

Lamb of God – A Devil In God's Country Lyrics 19 years ago
Bush is trying to get rid of these Devil's in God's Country.

swift and terrible vengeance=jihad suicide attacks

bone to pick, nerve to pluck, skin to get under=the terrorist point of view, to create fear to push their radical agenda

mine are loaded=while our soldiers fear death, they embrace it, and welcome it

CHARON=ARIEL CHARON aka ISRAEL PM

Gettin served by some Southern hospitality aka Texan aka Bush, weeding out the extremists.

Lamb of God – In Defense Of Our Good Name Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's about finding solace in everything you have. "I do not covet any man's life" is an important line, because while it seems like everyone wants something more, he is satisfied with how he is. And that he'll take the humility of his provincial views, but it'll only make him stronger. It's kind of a reference almost to the 10th commandment, and a lashing out all those who do, particularly in the cities, where fashion, greed, and lust rule our minds. It's about security in a world of insecurity.

Lamb of God – Omerta Lyrics 19 years ago
Omerta is also I think more of a reference to killing the Truth. We always kill those who bring out what we know to be eternal truths, be it Jesus, JFK, Martin Luther King. It's kind of like the line "Smite the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered."

Lamb of God – One Gun Lyrics 19 years ago
the sins of the world led to Jesus' coming. unrighteousness is the cause, Jesus is the effect.

do you all also ignore Omerta as well? The biggest case of omerta was Jesus.
