my favourite songs song i think. not really sure what it's about, but i love "nervous as a bride, shes not but she tries" line and image. Perhaps it's about a prostitute, or have i just made a fool of myself :) If it is, the irony of "nervous as a bride" makes it an even better song... |

Maybe its just me (isn't always ;)) but I think this song's describing the/a descent into depression. the dead crow crying out for his wings: it's a gorgeously sad image. I love his voice in this, it's mixed really well too. the song is perfect, like so many of his. |

| I don't even want to know what the song 'means'. the images are just meant to be. this is the first songs: ohia song I heard and it gave me shivers then, and it shivers me still. the "here comes midnight, with the dead moon in its jaws" is one of the most striking images i've heard. | |

I stand and listen to this on a hill in this big 'ol town of mine with the moon over the ocean and the wharf lights glowing in dark mist. what a heart breaker. I love the line "when the bells ring 12 times..." so simple, but right on (just like always). Not sure what the dead archer's all about though. Songs: ohia - they make you want to do strange things, like join forumns like this... just gotta tell people about the beauty... |
