Beach House – Real Love Lyrics 16 years ago
I find this song absolutely haunting.

"I met you..."? I mean goddamn!
"Real Love" (a capitalized essence concept), it finds you.

"I met you". and that's all.
You met real love, but that's all.

Incredible songwriting. Beach House has really hit their creative stride. Best album of 2010 candidate.

This is the hands-down best song Oberst has ever written.

"a political song . . . having to do with . . . the Americans sending in these people, trained torturers in South America . . . I imagined these lovers in a conversation . . . if you listen the words of The Electrician it really explains itself after Ive started." - Scott Walker in a 1984 radio interview

fucking incredible.
and the shredding?
oh yes.
this should've just been a Scott Walker [EP] with the first 4 songs from Nite Flights.

one of the kicked-around names for "Bunny Ain't No Kind of Rider" was "Eagle-Shaped Mirror," so a "sad return to the eagle-shaped mirror" might be a reference to the same kind of sensual/sexual temptation scenario that was featured in Bunny.

also: "Fate had painted her face like a man's mistake" maybe?

"I hear the toy ball bouncing on Jihad would do their elegant conceit"

is more likely:
"I hear the toy ball bouncing on cheap hardwood through their elegant conceit"

this is far and away their best record.
