not sure why it has to be a milkman, but i guess you would expect a milkman to be drinking milk but this one drank bleach presumably to kill himself, which is a topic usually touched upon by skiba. so he's saying he wants to kill himself, though in this song it almost seems as though he's more joking about it like in the vein of "god that movie was so terrible i wanted to kill myself" type of statement
the second verse is obviously about playing shows, or being an artist in general sharing all his thoughts with his fans so that its all so cheap to him now, and i think this song might be an example of how he's just spurting out shit that sounds good together to make a rhythm for this song. there is definitely the theme of traveling with the flying and having to wait 14 hours being unfed and then there's the chorus with the girl that he's pissed at like pretty much every trio song. gotta hand it to him that he really knows how to stick it to the bitch, whoever she is. i'm sure there's a lot, and that they have probably all killed themselves after hearing what he really had to say about them. anyways, yeah, that's my take on it. bazookatooth pretty much said the simplified version of my explanation. |

well, for those looking for the subversive angle, maybe i have an explanation.
home is where everybody wants to be when they're working or doing something that they don't want to be doing. in that state going home would pick you up and turn you around. he feels numb, born with a weak heart, this is the only fun he knows, and the less you talk about your problems the less you think about them and the less they are on your mind at all times, so with your feet on the ground, and head in the sky, its alright, because your naivety is telling you that nothings wrong... love like many things is a distraction to keep you from the darkness life brings, and the light in the other person's eyes is washing away the darkness while they're standing there beside you. and when you're in love you don't worry about the money. these problems are far away and easily conquered so you can cover up and say goodnight, go back to sleep. i'm kinda lost on finding the bleak parts of the second verse, but the next chorus starts off saying he admires this person because their face with a view is expanding their mind to see the world in the same way he does; he's just an animal looking for a home... maybe they could share the same space for a 'minute or two' which in a galactic perspective is like our entire lifetime. love me till i'm dead... hit me on the head, make sure that i'm not dreaming.... ahh ooohhhhh!!! |

i think this song is about how america seems to have a cure for everything, and the narrator hasn't thought too much about dying, or otherwise being ailed by some disease before, he hasn't felt this way, but in being bombarded by all the advertisements for different pills in combination with the news broadcasting more reasons to worry about dying of cancer or some other disease, it suddenly seems "real" to him... so he just wants to be cured of something he has been convinced he has... this is how i percieve the song. |

he actually says "don't go tossin' your stones around" and i don't think this song is as much criticizing lazy stoners as it is about all the anti-marijuana advertisements (aka public service announcements) and the general policies governing pot. maybe i'm wrong, but that's what i've got with the couple of listens i've had and reading the lyrics once over. |

interesting analysis, but i think that it might even be an anti-suicide song... using the line "...if you get to weary to go on? you're not going to exit" means you should just keep going and see what's ahead in life, since that's all we know and all we ever will know while we're alive, you might as well tough it out since you're here. there is a lot of desperation in the song, but desperation for what? i think it might be desperation for a better life, not necessarily ending life. |

this song is talking about how words have lost so much meaning, since "we speak the way we breathe" he's saying that there is just an endless amount of inane bullshit that people blather on about like it actually matters... when it really doesn't. the contasting "promises... words" at the end just shows what promises really are; words... and then only time they are any good is if the person that promises is really worth their word. |

this song is pretty political. this country could be seen as the "waiting room" where everybody sits idly by as desicions are made by all the officials around them, and they don't even really know that's what's happening... which is why "they can't get up" and the last verse pretty much reveals what the chosen few are wanting to do about it. |

wow. lots and lots of respect given to cathartic. i'm somewhat undecided on this album... since i think i lost my copy, i haven't listened to it lately. but when i first got it i gave it a good few listens, and needless to say, at first, yes i was disappointed... i mean... when you do a side by side comparison of this vs... say broken, or downward spiral, there is a clear differance and i ask everyone which they think is better. i asked myself this as well, and found that i do like the older stuff a good deal more, but that's not to say that there is no merit in this new release. and face it, the man quit doing drugs. now when most artists do that, then you know the "best of" and cover albums are not far behind... and you definitely notice a change in the music. you could get a sense of the direction he was headed with the fragile, (poisoned to my rotten core, too fucked up to care anymore) but its as though there was a good loss of flavour along the way to this album. i don't know... that's one man's opinion. i don't hate it but i don't love it. |

after reading a lot of these opinions, it really makes me wonder why i even signed up to be on this site in the first place. from the obviously incorrect assumptions that this song is about cops to the mindless ramblings of 'BLAH NIN ROCKS' it really makes me wonder if there is ANY hope at all for you pigs. that's right. pigs are mindless creatures fed to the slaughter.. and they keep winning, day after day after god blessed day.. in the court houses, in congress, on the media... there's pigs everywhere in this capitalistic society. this song is about truth, sanity, stage performance, society, and so many other meanings that anybody could apply to it with whatever argument they please.
