In my opinion I think he's talking about how stupid things in society gain more importance than the things that actually are important: "Oh! Friend! You look too deep at the cover of the magazine But the words inside they come across deprived And they force feed shit, but you still subscribe" He's saying here that people read things (like tabloids) when important things are cast aside. I think the overall message of the song is that: if people don't focus on the important things, it will lead to our downfall: "Come one, come all to observe the fall Free tickets to the free for all" The way I understand it, he's lost faith in humanity. |
