| Chris Brown – Forever Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
And now, six years after I made that original comment, I think that Chris Brown is one of the most loathsome, disgusting women-abusing men on the planet, and I would prefer if he dropped off the face of the earth and was never heard from again. He's truly despicable scum. Song's still catchy, but Chris Brown is slime on my shoes. |

| Chris Brown – Forever Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's like a combination of Eiffel 65-style techno and R&B - never heard of the guy before, but this is a good song. Very smooth, good use of synth. | |
| Nine Inch Nails – Discipline Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Before the chain of comments gets too much longer, I'll post Trent's original lyrics from the id3 tag so that we have them as "backup": ============================== DISCIPLINE am i still tough enough? feels like i’m wearing down is my visciousness losing ground? am i taking too much did i cross a line i need my role in this very clearly defined i need your discipline i need your help i need your discipline you know once i start i cannot help myself and now it's starting up feels like i'm losing touch nothing matters to me nothing matters as much i see you left a mark up and down my skin i don't know where I end and where you begin i need your discipline i need your help i need your discipline you know once i start i cannot help myself once i start i cannot stop myself |

| Johnny Cash – The Man Comes Around Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The radio static at the beginning, and especially at the end, are eerie and ominous, and they always make the hair on my arms stand up. First time I heard it was on Dawn of the Dead, and as everyone else had said...it was enough to make me shudder (in the good way) | |
| Interpol – No I in Threesome Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Out of all the songs on OLTA, I think this one sounds the most like it should be on Antics - which is no problem for me because I loved Antics more than OLTA, but the musical style just matches much better with their older work. | |
| Interpol – Pioneer to the Falls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's all metaphorical. The first part of the song is talking about how they've been through everything, and they can handle it, even with all the leaks in their relationship, thinks might be pretty wet but "You fly straight into my heart" is just a love admonishment. However, listen to how the timbre of the song changes at "But Here Come the Falls" - where the singer becomes sarcastic and says, if we were a little wet before, here comes the waterfall and that's going to be the end of them. In a passion it broke (his soul; he changes the chorus) And in the end, he pulls back from the grey - I think he means the falls themselves; I think that might mean that he blames her and broke up with her first. |

| Angels and Airwaves – Star of Bethlehem Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song is actually an instrumental, it has no lyrics except the final second, where Tom says, "What are you waiting for?" original lyricist, please edit accordingly. |
|
| Angels and Airwaves – Secret Crowds Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Favorite one on the album, although it took a few listens in order to appreciate it. Clearly the title track on the album, being how often the word "empire" is used, and it should be too - it's the best one. I especially like the anthem-style chorus sing near the end. |

Weakness, IN THE WINDOW beach ROCK TASTE you as your BREATHE I have the CD booklet with me, having actually purchased the physical CD. *rolls eyes* |
|
| Angels and Airwaves – Breathe Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It really is "honesty" not "all this day" - I actually have the CD booklet here with me, so there's no point in trying to debate me. I compare this one to "I Miss You" - they're both great, although I Miss You is my favorite. AvA is just totally different than Blink, so there's really no point in comparing them any further. |

| They Might Be Giants – Contrecoup Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
These lyrics are incomplete. I started with these but the second part is missing. Here's the whole thing. You know what's wrong with me You know phrenology You saw my injury You can tell just by looking at my skull Contrecoup, on the rebound Contrecoup hurt me again And the second was worse by far than the first 'Cause it made me limerent When my head was hit I bounced away from it Or as someone who is craniosophic would say The brain went the opposite way Contrecoup, on the rebound Contrecoup hurt me again And the second was worse by far than the first 'Cause the first one woke my feelings for you But the contrecoup made my words untrue And it left me limerent which is to say How it goes Couched in terms No one knows And as if the choice were slim As if there's no sentiment You know what's wrong with me You know phrenology You saw my injury You can tell just by looking at my skull Contrecoup, on the rebound Contrecoup hurt me again And the second was worse by far than the first Though the impulse is strong the connection is weak But I know what to say But forgot how to speak When it made me limerant. |

| Nine Inch Nails – At the Heart of It All Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This song reminds of the music from the video game "Myst" - one of the clockwork worlds. Just hearing it...doesn't it sound like machinery to you? The hissing of steam, the pound of gears and cogs moving together? It makes me think of the heart of a machine...when all else has been stripped away and just the pure internal truth has been revealed in all its rhythmic, methodical beauty. |
|
| Nine Inch Nails – God Given Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Absolutely eerie bestial sounds in this song, combined with of course the obvious references to religion, that Year Zero's religious groups are more beast than man. I really like this one, as a Christian who is disgusted with the Church - excellent work. | |
| B2K – Take It to the Floor Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| A truly awesome dance song. However, could we please get a version in here that actually uses proper grammar and punctuation? If I wanted spelling like this, I'd go to lyrics007... | |
| Weird Al Yankovic – Virus Alert Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love this song and its music video..."Make you physically attracted to sheep" I mean, weird al is one of the few artists I'll actually buy...although the fact that Volcano Entertainment (Al's label) is owned by the rootkit-happy Sony BMG is rather disconcerting..."Virus Alert" indeed...ON THIS CD! I work in a tech shop myself, and virus removal is one of our services. Glad we have a soundtrack now! |

| Weird Al Yankovic – Polkarama! Lyrics | 19 years ago |

darn it, I also wrote down the lyrics as I heard them...took 20 minutes and I thought I'd be the first one, but you beat me to it! And yeah, mine is pretty much identical, except with more exclamation points. |

| Regina Spektor – Us Lyrics | 19 years ago |

www.comingzune.com - I don't know what microsoft is on with the viral marketing and the music videos... but it's an extremely pretty song. |

| Cake – Up So Close Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
no, jawbreaker, stoney's right - c'mon, "way down south" - i don't think that it gets any clearer then that. He never sees the girl he's with, because he's always "up so close"...to her vagina, that is. |
|
| Cake – She'll Come Back To Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| seriously oswen...wow. This song is a lot more like locust said. It's pretty well summed up there. | |
| Lucky Boys Confusion – Atari Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
my favorite song on the album - totally relaxed and an anthem for guys to rally around when we want to escape from the world. No matter what happens, we always have our video games! heh heh...who needs sex when you've got ATARI!! |
|
| Nickelback – Animals Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| He's just bragging now lol - they'll never be able to make a new album with him being shot in the head by the chick's dad ;) | |
| They Might Be Giants – Pencil Rain Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| C'mon - TMBG said it themselves, take the song literally, the puns are funny, I remember I first heard this song when I was seven, and my dad who is a huge TMBG fan pointed the puns out to me after the song and I thought it was great. I think it was this piece that made me first realize the humor in the Johns' songs :) | |
| Shinedown – Save Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This was their closer when I saw them live 2 nights ago. They went offstage, but this baby was their encore. I had never heard them live before, and never heard this song before (or at least put it to them as opposed to anyone else) Brent is awesome at getting the crowd involved, Trapt performed right before them, and although I do like Trapt more, Shinedown REALLY got the adrenaline going. They sound totally different then Simple Man, but wow - this song practically got someone killed in front of me from moshing. :) |

| Incubus – Agoraphobia Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I have an idea about what the song is about, taken from the above lyrics. Two people touching lips Hands on each other's hips Nothing in else in the world but one another (he's looking over at another couple, focused on each other, enjoying each other's company, in love and loving it) The 42nd floor On a distant shore I wonder how we strayed so far from this (this couple and he are at a party, a ritzy party (on the 42nd floor) and they're right across the room but they might as well be across the ocean in how far from that love he has strayed...) Remember when we were Just flesh and bone You say, "We have forgotten how cordial war could be" (...because he's at the party with his significant other too. A dead relationship that is mostly empty, filled with fighting and guarded insults...a cordial war between two people) So, put down your hollow sips (or tips) And kiss your lovers lips And learn that fate is what you make of it (he's upset, either sips or tips - put down your wine glass, listen to me, or stop firing your empty hollow words at me - and KISS me, I want to... Please end this Before it ends us (obviously - he wants to make things better) I wanna stay inside I wanna stay inside for good I wanna stay inside For good (he doesn't want to go to any more of these parties if this is what he has to see, if he has to have this empty relationship, this hateful woman with him - I don't want to be in PUBLIC PLACES with you) I read the news today And everything they say Just makes me want to stay inside (expands this personal feeling to a more global feeling - this part I agree is about politics and a jaded comment about how we ALL might as well stay inside anyway) And a better part of me knows That waiting in the throes Is all on par with reading with my eyes closed (not quite sure here - he's pretty sure though, that just trying to wait out his silence and boredom between he and her is foolish...like reading that same newspaper with his eyes closed. The problems aren't going to go away unless you ACT) "What Can I do?", You say It's just another day In the life of apes with ego trips ("you" could be either her, or you, the informed voter - what are we all doing, what kind of power do I have, what do you want ME to do about it? He reacts sarcastically - we're just apes that are playing at being humans.) Put down your hollow sips And kiss your lover's lips And learn that fate is what we make of it Please end this Before it ends us I wanna stay inside I wanna stay inside for good I wanna stay inside For good I'm gonna stay inside I'm gonna stay inside for good I'm gonna stay inside For Good I wanna stay inside I wanna stay inside for good I wanna stay inside Don't want to stay inside for good (because in the end of course - he wants them to be happy again. He doesn't want to stay inside for good, deep down, but he's resigned to it.) |

| Spinal Tap – Big Bottom Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
goatse.cx Anyway - I had this song on my computer for about 3 years before I watched the movie. Then I recognized Chris Guest about 5 minutes before the movie ended and I'm like...wait...this ISN'T a real band??!! Embarassing. |
|
| Nine Inch Nails – Only Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Whenever I play this song on my mobiblu like, you just start walking in stride to the beats at the beginning. You picture guys with dark glasses just walking down the street all moving in unison. A head-nodder, as they used to say in the old days. Definitely one of the best. |
|
| Trapt – Use Me To Use You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Pretty sure that it's not "you know you're what you need" but it's "you don't know what you need" | |
