Well.. I have the 'Anywhere but Home' version.. and turning up my mp3 player, and using the ballad setting... the whispers to me sound like..: "Get used to it please, Get used to it please, you can't stop me please, You won't say please, please.." And also.. it sounds like, "You won't cry for lips, and sigh" to me, where she is supposed to say, "You won't cry for my absence I know", even though that doesn't make an ounce of sense.. I love this song as well... I don't think she's killing herself though... I think she's just running away, and not telling where. I have often wanted to do this... just take a few things, walk out the door, and ne'er return. Off to parts unknown to anyone know.. where none could find me.. But I can't do it, because, well, I know the people here do care about me in their own way.. and I couldn't desert my grandparents like that, without leaving them any clue. It could be any person who cared about her.. once.. and she felt had left her behind for other things.. But she wishes to be able to look back, and see that she left a scar upon their heart, the way they injured her, by leaving.. forever. |

| I don't know... it kinda reminded me of gambling? Probably because of the 'Waste your millions here' line. I know! It's Vegas! Vegas has so many lights, it could be said to 'burn like the sun' you feel guilty while you are there, because of all the opulence and sin surounding you.. One could be come beyond wealthy, or loose everything one owns there.. just depending on your luck. Gambling is an addiction.. no one wants to admit to addictions... "Can't face the shame" .. so.. yeah, I think it's about Vegas. xD | |

Well... I was reading 'Interview with the Vampire' when I bought this cd... so most of the songs remind me of Vampires in some way... In this one... you gain immortality (even if you tend to be depressed, like Louis...) but you have to feed off other people, committing the same crime over and over again.. If you stop, you die, To continue living, you must continue feeding, and there is of course the pleasure that comes with that... but there is also guilt for the vampire with a remaining sense of humanity. An ex-friend who was moe that slightly perverted lept telling me this song was about sex, so I hated that I liked it for a while... so the government theory (which seems most plausable, as it was in the video) makes me feel a whle lot better. xD |
