What is the deal with hair? I believe PAtrick Wolf has got a sort of obsesion for hair, his own hair. There is no live gig I have attended where he doesn't mention his hair. Not to mention he is always stroking and touching it. Then I found out about this song....It's funny!! |

When i first heard this song I was living abroad. For months, each time I was homesick, I would listen to this beautiful song and it literally had an effect on me, not necessarily a positive effect though. It does mean London to me, and it smells like London, and it holds nostalgia and melancholy, yet need for something more, all of which I felt while away. Today, back in London, I cannot take a walk around the city or simply take a deep breath looking at the sky without having this song stuck in my head for hours and hours...and it won't let me go. This is when they say, the power of music. |

This is probably one of my favourite songs by Patrick Wolf. The album version is pretty good, but i have listened at least to three other different versions at gigs, one of which last night at Bloomsbury Theatre, and I have to say they all sounded great. When he sings the last bit, he always opens up his palm towards the audience and shows his wide right hand... love that part. I have known this incredible artist for over 2 years now, and I must say he is a little genius. |
